  • "A lovely place to stay."

Our only proviso (not the fault of the cottage!) is that you really need a car, or bicycles, or some form of transport, because it is a fair walk to get anywhere. We came by train and because it rained, it was difficult to get about. Also, the local pub has suddenly closed too! But the cottage and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and it has space for six people. Judith was quick to reply to any text messages and was very helpful.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The cottage is situated in the small village of Corton, which is shown on the location map. We are pleased that you loved the cottage and its garden. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "What a lovely stay."

Foleys cottage was everything we had hoped for. It had rustic charm as well as comfort. The cottage was well maintained and the facilities were excellent. The best part for us was the Daren which was truly and exceptionally pretty. It had secret pathways and lots to explore. The 2nd double room was a bit too dim with very little natural light and the 3rd bedroom was a little musty - but nothing a good airing didn’t fix. It also became very cool in the evenings so relied on the wood fire more than expected. The paper and kindling provided was a little damp to light but we bought more kindling and papers and it made a great difference. Nothing like sitting in front of a lovely real fire, when we don’t have one at home. We had a lovely week, visiting Frome, Bath, Stourhead and lovely walks around the cottage to Boyton, Upper Lovell and Heytesbury. I would recommend Foleys.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time away and we hope that we can welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

it was everything we hoped for and the information provided about the property was accurate. It exceeded our expectations and has completely restored my faith when booking and staying in holiday homes. Our last experience with a different (well known) company was a great disappointment and was nothing like what was advertised. I can't thank you enough for restoring our faith and providing us with the enjoyable and lovely experience we had at Foley's.

Thank you so much for this lovely review which is greatly appreciated. We're so glad you had such an enjoyable stay at Foley's Cottage and happy too that we have restored your faith in holiday homes! We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Hideaway Cottages Property Owner

  • "What a gorgeous cottage, set in well cared for and beautiful gardens."

The cottage was not without its quirks, but that all fed into the experience of staying in an old cottage. If you want something super modern, this is not the place for you, but we really enjoyed the homely feel of this well loved cottage. And the open fire was a treat. :) Jude was also lovely, and extremely helpful with all our requests and info on the local area, which really helped us on our stay in Wiltshire. The parking is in the process of being renovated, which Jude did warn us about, but it was perfectly adequate for our stay. The closest pub, The Dove, which is only a minute's walk away, is ok. It doesn't have a lot of atmosphere and I think the food is overpriced, but it is very convenient and the staff are friendly. The Prince Leopold in the next village, on the other hand, is well worth a visit, as is The Bath Arms near Longleat. Both of these last two were great, with excellent food quality, and much more worth the price. We took the advice of going to Frome, Stourhead and Lacock during our stay, all of which did not disappoint. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage, Jude.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time at Foley's Cottage and appreciate all of your comments. Best wishes, Hideaways Property Owner

  • "Our stay at Foley's Cottage was fantastic!"

Initial communications with Judith were warm and welcoming and any queries we had throughout our stay were promptly attended to and resolved. The property is situated in a lovely area with beautiful tiered gardens at the rear. The summer house was a great addition with a small fridge to keep drinks cool, and shelter for respite from the sun. The cottage had everything we needed for the week and we even managed to have a fire on one of the cooler evenings, that said, the central heating is excellent so the fire was more for atmosphere and marshmallows ;) The only issue we had was with the address that Sykes listed on their website and in their communications, which was incorrect, however Judith's directions were spot on and once I fed this back to her she was going to contact Sykes to have it rectified. 100% would love to stay again!

  • "Foley's Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful location."

It is so picturesque and in the perfect location. Set on its own, but only a short walk to the local hostelry "The Dove Inn". Very easy to get to and only a short drive to many local attractions, such as Stonehenge, Salisbury, The New Forest and Bournemouth, to mention just a few. It is also perfect for a walk in the countryside too. After a pleasant day out, it's the perfect place to return to and relax, either in the beautiful gardens or the summer house. The enclosed yard is perfect for a relaxing meal outdoors in the fresh air, or under the cover of the very large umbrella, if the weather isn't too favourable. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay, and can't wait to return again. There was a lovely welcome hamper to greet us when we arrived. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here, it's the perfect location for couples, families, or a group of friends. I guarantee you won't regret a stay here.

  • "The beds really comfortable, the sofas also comfortable, the top bedroom and the garden room were delightful."

Unfortunately it was let down by the following, Both the lounge and master bedroom were extremely dark, we had to have the lights on all the time but even then they were still dark. A large part of the garden was very uncared for. The parking area was a joke. If two cars were able park there it would have been a miracle. As well as being quite steep the parking area also dipped to one side. Unpacking and packing the top box was extremely challenging. A note was left informing us that the main shower was not working which meant six people had to use a very small ground floor shower, I think that might warrant a some sort of refund. Whether you publish this feedback I leave to you, but I feel that the description was not quite accurate. But I take my hat off to the photographer for making it look so much better than it was.

  • "The very definition of "quaint", Foley's cottage looks like your typical old-fashioned, English home on the outside: small and charming (and thatched!"

), but inside was big enough for our family of 4 kids and 2 adults to come "home" to and relax next to a cozy fire after a tiring day of exploring the countryside. Kids (ages 6, 8, 9 and 11) loved exploring, roaming and running around the backyard playing all kinds of games. Going further afield, its location was ideally situated for day trips out to Bath, Avebury and Salisbury. The property

Tucked away behind mature hedges and approached via a wooden footbridge, Foley’s Cottage is every inch the Quintessential English country cottage – thatched, detached and tucked away on a quiet lane, impossibly cute and surrounded by a delightful garden. Unsurprisingly, we fell in love with the cottage when we visited, and are sure you will too!

Inside the cottage is cosy and peaceful yet it is full of traditional charms which give it a lovely, historic feeling.

The colours are restful and muted and with the added attraction of good quality furnishings, you can’t help but feel right at home.

A stroll to the top of the grounds is rewarded by sweeping views of the surrounding downs.

In the orchard you’ll find the well-appointed summerhouse providing a wonderfully peaceful haven for relaxing after a day’s activities in this outstanding area perhaps before taking a short stroll to the famous Dove Inn and restaurant just below.

Its instant chocolate box appeal is obvious, and we’d imagine you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

The delightful market town of Warminster can be found to the south west of Salisbury Plain, at the head of the lush Wylye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Well known for its military connections, the old charm of the town centre has been preserved, where you can still find quaint houses and inns built from the local Warminster stone.

Nearby there are lovely walks in abundance, while no visit to this area would be complete without exploring the house, gardens and safari park at Longleat.

Foley’s cottage is great for families looking to explore the area of Warminster and the surrounding area.
