  • "The cottage was delightful, well furnished and decorated."

Very comfortable bed. The setting was ideal, in a cottage garden with a private seating area. There was a wi-fi signal but slightly intermittent. The only minor points as regards items provided were a bread bin and a food cupboard. Apart from this, we couldn’t really fault the accommodation. It was close to main roads, so it was easy to travel to places of interest.

  • "Cannot fault this place hence I've given it maximum all across the board."

A perfect base for a couple exploring East Somerset. Try the local pub!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to meet you. Hope to see you again. Tony & Ruth Property Owner

  • "Very good, certainly one of the best places we have stayed at, and we are very likely to book a return visit in the future."

Some minor maintenance issues eg Bathroom door latch knob fell of as wasn't properly screwed on and bath did not drain properly when using the shower, reported this to the management company and faults were corrected on Wednesday. Problem with condensation on bedroom windows as room ventilator has been painted over. Bath still backs up with wastewater when using the shower which is not pleasant, so the waste trap needs removing and cleaning out properly. It is probably full of hair which is a common problem with this type of shower. These are not major problems but do need rectifying.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologise for the problems you had, and thank you for reporting these. We were on holiday ourselves, so it was a shame we didn't get to meet you in person. However we are pleased that the management company were able to respond to your issues. We have ensured that the bath water now drains freely. We see you have booked again for next year, and we look look forward to meeting you. Kind regards Tony & Ruth Property Owner

  • "This was well equipped and appointed bungalow/cottage."

We were very comfortable. Loved to hear the race horses slowly clopping down the road outside as they were taken for morning exercise. Otherwise it was quiet and peaceful. The path up to the front door was a little steep for a person with difficulty walking so need to be aware. We would love to go back one day.

  • "I had to seek help with working the induction hob, the microwave and the bedside light!"

This was in spite of perusing the manual of the hob especially. When you are alone it is frustrating to have to spend time working all this out as well as unloading the car, unpacking and generally settling in to somewhere new.

We are sorry that you found the instructions hard to follow. As we discussed with you this wasn't a problem we had encountered before. However we did assist you a couple of times when you asked for help and as we said we would have been happy to help further. We have also added more basic instructions to our information pack for future guests. I hope that this will not put you off from returning to stay here again in the future. • "A most comfortable cottage and immaculately clean, with all the facilities you could want for week's (or longer) stay."

A larger TV would have been good, but otherwise everything was top notch. The provision of welcome goodies was appreciated, as was the supply of DVDs and maps/guides to the area. Long Batch Cottage made a good base to explore, with the Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Frome and Wells in particular worthy of a visit and within easy striking distance. A well stocked farmshop is only a few minutes drive away in Pylle. The cottage is accommodation we wish we could up and take on all our holidays.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. It was lovely to meet you both. Tony & Ruth Property Owner
