  • "We have used Sykes often and always been pleased."

This time was slightly different. The house was outstanding but we had trouble with the key safe. It took ages to open and then would not close properly. We used the contact phone number but it was for an office and there was a queue. We had finally gained entry but what if we hadn't? The office was about to close (Friday afternoon) and we would have had to find other accommodation for the weekend. There should be an emergency number. We did contact the office twice during the week but no-one seemed too concerned even though the fault needed to be fixed before the next rental. The house was brilliant but the backup certainly was not.

Hi Morgan, Thanks for your review and highlighting the issue with the key safe and your concern for the next guests. Very thoughtful. I have spoken with Sykes and they advised ‘ We do have an out of hours contact that is provided to guests in the welcome pack. This line is directed to head office who takes the call. In a case of emergency, head office will contact our on-call property manager to attend the situation. If the guests didn't eventually get into the property, our out of hours property manager would have certainly been able to attend’ the key safe was also fixed. I’m so glad you enjoyed the comfort of the house and everything it had to offer. Kind regards Sophie Property Owner

  • "A great property and a great stay."

Ideally located in the centre of Dorchester and very close to main shopping areas and sights. Also well placed to visit the main sights of Dorset. Would definitely want to return as a huge house over three floors with some well presented rooms. Only points for improvement would be to replace some of the pillows in the rooms, as very flat, and there were some areas that needed dusting.

  • "This is a lovely cottage in the perfect location for your visit to Dorchester."

The owner has seriously thought about what you would need and want for a comfortable stay, and provided it all! The spacious kitchen has plenty of dishware and cookware, the large bathroom has plenty of soft towels, and there is even a pretty patio to enjoy if the weather is fine. A larger dining table would be nice, but that is the only change to suggest. We will definitely be back!

Hi Jennifer, Thank-you for your wonderful review that really is kind. I am so glad you enjoyed our comfortable period townhouse and all it has to offer. Thanks Sophie and Ross Property Owner

  • "Very comfy stay."

Everything we needed was there and it was very clean and tidy. Beds were comfy and no problems with hot water. The location is great, right in the centre of town with easy walking to to the shops, some great pubs and restaurants and, of course, some great walks in and around this historic town. The only slight blemish was that the rubbish had not been disposed of but that is something for the owner to discuss with the management company!
