  • "Caroline was a brilliant host and we couldn't have asked for more."

Place was clean and tidy and hot tub was an absolute delight we truly feel relaxed after our holiday in Somerset. The only thing I would have said is there could be a maiden within the property as it was quite hard to get things dry from using the washing machine...

  • "Regarding Sykes holidays itself."

....I had a couple of queries before leaving. At the time Sykes could only answer questions via email. I had no response after 2 weeks. They then changed their contact method to phone, but even after repeated attempts still couldn't get through. Pretty poor really. The property itself is very quaint, and occupies a tranquil location with a gorgeous garden. It's Ideal for dog walks, with many footpaths running close by. The property is well laid out and makes great use of the available space.. Another holiday property sits above this one, so at night creaking floorboards and footsteps may be troublesome to some... The hot tub is a nice feature, although bear in mind they use a rota system for 3 holiday lets, so you can't just jump in when you fancy a dip. Those being extra careful during these Covid times may not like the idea of sharing. The bed is large but was a little firm for our taste. The ensuite had a large bath and a powerful overhead shower. The ensuite didn't have a particular nice odour to it. You have to have the door shut, otherwise it becomes obtrusive whilst you're in bed. Otherwise it was clean and tidy. Parking is a short walk up a lane, which was no bother to us.

  • "Bracken is a peaceful, beautifully presented properly with stunning views."

At every turn there are walks that allow you to see for miles around; our dog had the time of his life! Bracken is bigger than it looks and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. There is so much to do in the area but we actually spent one day relaxing and enjoying the garden. The hot tub is an added bonus and although it is shared with another property; daily times are allocated which means you can relax knowing you will not be disturbed. Caroline is so helpful and welcoming; we would definitely stay again.
