“So much to tell you.”
We were so lucky to find a place which will accept 4 dogs as we had a last-minute cancellation happen to us from elsewhere, so our options were very limited, but this cottage came up and was just perfect! Rich and Shell are great hosts, so lovely, helpful in fact they are inspirational people.
The cottage itself was comfortable and very clean, and we had a welcome pack on arrival which included dog treats for all our dogs. We needn’t have gone shopping until the next day as we had traveled light as we only have a small car.
When we always go to new places there is always a slight sense of trepidation, as our Dogs are well behaved but will bark if anyone come too close or they hear other dogs. We were put at our ease by the comments of the hosts as they are basically not going to disturb anyone as the garage opposite is the only place that might hear them and the hosts who have their rescued dogs to. The reality was only once or twice a day did they have a bark so nothing to worry about. The place was more like ‘Doggie heaven’ as far as our dogs were concerned. They had their enclosed private garden to play in and an odd friend or 2 next door we all chilled out.
Yes, the property is next to a main road, but the same is true of our home, so there is a little road traffic noise so what. Its more noticeable if the windows open and yes there is occasional throughout the night, if you happen to be awake, but nothing exceptional. However, the dogs and us slept well, perhaps it was the extra dog walking and traveling as the cottage is well-placed for touring the area. We enjoyed trips out to the coast so the Dogs could run along the beach for 2 of them for their very first time. There were also some beautiful local woodland walks nearby and yes one of them found the only muddy patch and lied in it.
We all had a fantastic break and are re-booking as soon as we can which sadly will be 2022. We would have stayed another week if we could, but work and they had another booking immediately after us, made it a no. One of the few holidays when we weren’t glad to be back home again. We will be back and stay again and again and again, as there are so many things to do in the commutable area both near and withing an hour and a half’s drive. For genuine real dog people book with confidence.
