• "Joe and Jane welcomed us when we arrived and explained all aspects of the cottage."

  Recommended places to visit if we wanted and were on site if required. Home made cake and marmalade were left for us. If we come back to this area we would book cottage again as it is quite central to Somerset and the sites. Mike and Pat Thomas

• "Immaculate accommodation in a lovely setting We enjoyed a lovely week at The Hide."

  The property is immaculate with very good quality furniture and utensils. We were very comfortable in the lounge area with the log burning stove and had a lovely view of the countryside at the front of the property. It is in a perfect location with lots of interesting places within 20-30 minutes drive including: Glastonbury, Cheddar and Wells. We would highly recommend a stay at The Hide - Joe and Jane are the perfect hosts.

• "This is simply one of the best self catering properties we have rented."

  Our hosts Jane & Joe (+ their lovely dog) were so friendly and helpful and everything in the cottage/bungalow was beautifully appointed. The kitchen was well equipped, 2 lovely comfy, squashy sofas, big comfy bed, good size TV and great bathroom. The whole property was spotless with everything needed for a great weeks stay, we cold not fault a thing. Really quiet location but convenient for so many places plus surrounded by some good pubs too. All this and a lovely private garden - what more could we ask for. We shall certainly be telling all of our friends about The Hide.

• "This was a very clean and comfortable abode."

  Although we can understand the logic of a Friday change over, it is just about the worst day to travel with Friday traffic at its zenith. So, for purely personal reasons we would not go back there again. We will probably go on using Sykes Cottages, but not venture too far from home in the future.

  The cottage was clean as a whistle no problems here. One day we will be back. Beautiful Victoria sponge and milk in the fridge. Very comfortable and spacious cottage. Everything you could need was there. Garden lovely, we even saw a woodpecker pecking away on the lawn. Differently will be back. Thank you.

• "We had a fantastic stay at the Hide."

  Everything very clean and comfortable. We really liked how quiet and also private it was, with the large garden, patio and parking area just for our use. Local pubs within walking distance were nice and location is very close to all the reserves and cycle routes go right through the village. I spent a lovely few days cycling and exploring the levels.

• "Fantastic property for a couple, very close to the A39 so easy to get anywhere quickly."

  The Hide was well equiped with a very comfortable super-king sized bed, and nice sofa's for relaxing at the end of the day. Wells, Glastonbury and Street are nearby, the Clarks outlet village in Street was a nice wander on Sunday with some bargains. Bristol is an hour up the M5. The Duck in Burtle was very good for Sunday lunch and an evening meal. The Spice Gallery in North Pemberton and the Thai Elephant in Street were both also excellent, so no shortage of good restaurants a short drive from the property. The owners were very friendly and helpful, definitely at the top end of holiday rental owners we have dealt with. Hoping to return at some point to continue exploring Somerset.

• "Overall we were very happy with the property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, with a few nice personal touches on arrival, which helped. The property is in a quiet location adjacent to the main house with its own covered private parking and spacious garden. Inside it is finished to a high standard, so is a pleasant place to relax and unwind, with a very nice view to the front. Nevertheless, there is a well stocked small supermarket a short walk away and three nice pubs serving food about 15-20 walk away. In the listing, I would just like to have seen more details of what was provided in the property. Consequently we took a few items that were actually provided, such as a hairdryer. However, I'm sure the owners Joe & Jane would be happy to answer any questions about the Hide in advance of booking or arrival. We won't hesitate to book again if we want to spend more time in the area and would certainly recommend the Hide to friends and family.

  It was lovely to meet you both and thank you for staying at The Hide. We welcome all feedback and very much appreciate your comments. We aim to be as accurate as possible in our description and the listing does only provide a summary rather than a detailed inventory. As you know from your own experience, we also contact our guests well in advance of arrival by text and email inviting questions. • "This was a very late booking due to us being let down within minutes of our arrival at the property we had originally booked with another company."

  We are very grateful to Jane & Joe who stepped in at the last minute to accommodate us. The property was in a different area of Somerset to where we expected to be but was everything we could have asked for. It was detached, rural, very quiet and absolutely spotless. Jane & Joe were available, either in person or at the end of the telephone, if we needed anything and Jane even made us a lovely Victoria sandwich cake which was delicious. The property was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay and there was plenty of information available on places to visit in the area & places to eat locally. Jane & Joe were the perfect hosts & we would not hesitate to recommend The Hide to anybody wishing to get away for a relaxing break in the countryside.

  It was a terrible start to your holiday with your booking being cancelled at the last minute and we were very happy to accommodate you both and it was lovely to meet you. • "We had a fabulous holiday at The Hide."

  Very warm welcome on arrival and shown around the property. The Hide has everything you require for a perfect holiday, spacious, stylish quality furnishings, every utensil and cooking equipment you can think of, to be able to easily eat at home. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and small freezer. The garden was just perfect, nice furniture, glorious views and complete piece and quiet Joe and Jane have certainly provided everything you require for a perfect holiday and we would definitely return again.

  The cottage was absolutely immaculate, beautifully clean with every thing we could possibly need . There is so much to see and do nearby and not enough time in one stay we will therefore be returning. Wells, Bath, Glastonbury are all on the doorstep West Somerset Railway for the train lovers and The Duck pub in Burtle is not to be missed. Thanks Joe and Jane.
