The property

Old Beam Lodge provides the perfect retreat to explore the scenery of the New Forest or for finding your favourite beach on the south coast.

This charming lodge takes it name from the three hundred year old beams which were transferred from the owners 16th century thatched cottage next door and used to restore this delightful property.

The owners have gone to great lengths to mix period charm and character with some luxury stylish touches.

The entrance leads you through to a pretty, comfortable sitting room, including glass doors which open out to an enclosed private patio, where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

The sofa converts into a bed, giving options for those holidaying with children.

There is a separate double bedroom which is light and airy, and a shower room which boasts a steam power shower and a separate tiled cloakroom.

The kitchen is fully equipped with induction hob and dishwasher.

In the pretty country village of Burton, five excellent pubs are just a five minute walk away, If you enjoy walking then close by is the beautiful River Avon, this stretch is called the “The Royalty” boasting top class fishing, if you fancy having a go at angling then the owner can arrange tackle and permits for you.

Or just enjoy the scenery and watch the swans gilding past.

A day at the beach is just a five minute drive away, start at Hengistbury Head which opens onto seven miles of golden sands leading right down to the glamorous Sandbanks.

Bournemouth is definitely worth a visit, or check out historic Christchurch and its famous priory.

Closer to home is the owl sanctuary where you can try your hand at falconry.

The stunning New Forest with its wild ponies and donkeys is just a few miles, and Burley the jewel in the New Forest Crown is only a short distance by car.

A holiday experience to remember.

About the location

BURTON, DORSET

Christchurch 1.4 miles.

The village of Burton which boasts five excellent pubs are just a five minute walk away. If you enjoy walking then discover the beautiful River Avon; this stretch is called the “The Royalty” and boasts top class fishing, or just enjoy the scenery and watch the swans gilding up and down. A day at the beach can commence at Hengistbury Head which opens onto 7 miles of golden sands leading right down to the glamorous Sandbanks. Bournemouth is a fifteen minute drive, or check out historic Christchurch and its famous priory. No trip would be complete unless you have strolled down to the pretty quayside, where you can enjoy refreshments whilst watching the ever changing boating scene, or you may wish to take one of the regular boat trips along the peaceful River Stour. Take your buckets and spades to one of the gorgeous sandy beaches nearby, and enjoy a ferry trip across the mouth of the harbour from Mudeford Quay to the sandbank with its colourful array of little beach huts. Should you tire of all the local attractions you’ll find plenty to do in the nearby family-friendly resort of Bournemouth, or venture into the New Forest National Park, both worth a visit.
