  • "Small uncomfortable sofa."

Good size tv. Small kitchen no dishwasher. Would have expected in this price range enough loo roll, bin bags , oven gloves, tea towels. Plenty of towels. Small but good back garden for 2 large dogs. Pretty kerb appeal . Good views from some rooms particularly master bedroom. Good walks + dog beaches within easy reach .

  • "We had a lovely long weekend break at Chalkhill View, the cottage had everything we needed and was comfy and cosy, we have two small dogs and they loved staying at the cottage (downstairs only), there are lovely views over Portland Bay and coastal walks right on the doorstep - everything was perfect."

    Definately recommend staying there.

  • "The house was lovely and welcoming when we arrived - the views were wonderful and to stand in the kitchen and watch the windsurfers, small sailing boats and very large cruise liners in Portland Bay was incredible and a view we won’t forget."

The back garden was good with the patio area at the top to sit and catch the sun all day. Cushions for the patio chairs and garden bench would be an added bonus as would comfortable chairs in the lovely Conservatory. Access to wonderful footpaths to walk the dog and also the small beach just down the road. Thank you for allowing us to use your holiday home and we will share this with family and friends.

  • "We were absolutely blown away by our stay Chalkhill View."

The house is perfect it has everything you need and was spotlessly clean, The cleaners hadn’t missed a single thing. The beds were super comfy and it was warm and cosy. . The location is amazing 2 minutes from the beach with spectacular views, and on a great bus route to town. Everything you need is close by and I cannot recommend this place enough. The neighbours are friendly and Sykes were really helpful with every question we had. We will definitely be back and cannot wait. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay.

  • "The cottage was really nice and the place looked and felt clean."

The owners included a basket of things (poo bags, blankets, ball) for dogs, which we thought was a lovely addition. Kitchen was well equipped. There’s a stairgate in place, which was good as we prefer our dog to be downstairs. Wifi had good signal throughout the property, which was important to us as we had some work to do (and kept our kids quiet

  • "Had a great week, the house is in a perfect position with views of the sea."

Although the house is relatively small, it was comfortable and so well equipped, with a well maintained garden. The owners had also thought of everything to make our dogs stay perfect, providing blankets, towels, bowls, even a spare lead just in case! We would certainly recommend.

About the location

WYKE REGIS

Weymouth 2 miles; Dorchester 9 miles.

Wyke Regis is a village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland Harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet, just two miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including the famous Crab House café, with it’s own oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing School, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour. The Fleet Lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area, whilst Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic Coast.
