  • "Great place the sea views from the bedroom are amazing."

Only thing which would make it better would be an outside light for the garden. Ideal for stays with pets.

  • "A beautiful house in a fantastic location."

It was like home from home and so clean and comfortable. Loved having a sea view from the main bedroom window and it was wonderful being so close to a beach. We walked into Weymouth on several occasions as well as along the causeway to Chesil Beach and across to Portland. Would highly recommend this house and will definitely be back again. Thank you so much

  • "We really loved Tidal Drift and found it to be a genuine home-from-home!"

We had one or two ideas we wanted to share with you which we hope might make it even better: As a family we are a bit driven by time (even on holiday!) and so wondered if the addition of a kitchen clock might help others of a like mind; The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with excellent pans and knives and we were comfortably able to prepare ourselves any kind of meal that we wanted (not always true of holiday properties!). We did however feel the lack of kitchen tongs, and also (in the city of fish) a fish-slice. We actually bought a fish-slice, and hopefully left it for the house; We thought it might be a lovely addition to provide a guest book for comments. This is a great way for families to extol the virtues of the property to you (of course!) but also to leave advice and experiences for subsequent guests ("don't miss fireworks on a Monday", "the Crab House is gorgeous!", etc.); Finally, we generated (ahem) a fair quantity of bottles over our two weeks and were a bit disappointed that we couldn't recycle them. We understand that you have simplified the often-complex local rules on how to process rubbish, but would it be possible to include a glass recycling box in addition to the black bin?

Thank you so much for your review, we are so delighted that you had such a lovely holiday at Tidal Drift. Guest feedback is always very valuable, and we have noted all your suggestions. Unfortunately Dorset Council process the refuse from Tidal Drift, and do not currently offer recycling with the service they provide for our property. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful break staying at Tidal Drift."

The house was lovely. Very clean, spacious and well presented. Facilities were good and when we contacted to suggest a couple of items for the house, they were delivered promptly. Location is perfect perfect the quiet cove of Smallmouth, with sandy beach and calm water. Easy drive or lovely coastal walk to Weymouth, and corner shop a short walk. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for having us!

  • "Tidal Drift is in a fantastic location."

On the Rodwell Trail for tranquil dog walks, and very close to the kitesurfing beach for when the wind is up. It was immaculately clean, comfortable and with all amenities (with the exception of a barbecue). Would highly recommend, if you can book it!

About the location

Weymouth 2 miles; Dorchester 9 miles.

Wyke Regis is a village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland Harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet, just two miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including the famous Crab House café, with it’s own oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing School, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour. The Fleet Lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area, whilst Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic Coast.
