  • "Lovely well equipped cottage."

A note in the folder with the Wifi password would be helpful and no mention it was right next to the road, the tractors were a bit of a shock to the dog. She did get used to them after a few days. All in all we had a great stay in beautiful countryside, in cosy 'Sunny Dell'

  • "When we arrived the bathroom floor was soaking wet."

The toilet cistern had a leak. We had to put a jug under to catch the drips. Every morning the jug was full. After a day out, the jug overflowed onto the bathroom floor. We did inform the owner and he said he would call out a plumber. The leak persisted. The shower head on the bath is not fit for purpose and it was very tricky to get a good wash. It was very difficult to get the right mix of hot and cold water. A cosy, clean cottage but we found the bathroom facilities lacking.

It was quaint, comfortable and had everything you should need. Although there is no phone signal, we hooked up to the internet and then got pretty good signal.

  • "The cottage is a real home from home with a lovely welcoming pack of teas, coffees and cereals and the dog treats too - Jasper was a happy dog."

The property was clean and well maintained. The fireplace in the lounge makes a real statement just disappointed the evenings were too warm to need to light it, although we were tempted! I loved the roll top bath and the hand held shower didn't worry us. The owner contacted my husband before our visit, which added to the personal touch, recommending places to eat, and visit. Although our check in time was around 17:00, he told us the property would be ready by 14:00, which it was. It was great to have the washer drier, so no washing when we got back home - would be good to have a clothes airer too, for the option to dry outside in the courtyard. If visiting this area again, we would definitely come back!

  • "It was an attractive cottage and well equipped the problems were with the shower which was hand held and did not function and could not be adjusted there for it was either scalding hot or cold."

The bath was very slippery to stand in to attempt a shower. The toilet in the bathroom was very reluctant to flush. The stairs were steep and had a glass door at the bottom. There was no Wi Fi available.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are sorry it didn't meet your full expectations. Where we are able to, we have taken steps to address the issues you have outlined. Property Owner

About the location

Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
