There is a delay in getting materials because of the pandemic but we will get this done as soon as possible. There is a bath with a shower in the main bathroom. We look forward to you holidaying again soon.

“Second stay at Little Britain (in 5 years) odd to see that nothing had really changed during that time except for the appalling shower in the double bedroom, which doesn’t really do anything and is in desperate need of replacing.”

Living room sofas are worn, dusty and uncomfortable. (The same ones from 5 years ago) We didn’t really feel comfy sitting in there so sat in the kitchen. A bit of shame as the lounge has the potential to be a very cosy room! It’s apparent that Little Britain is lacking the love and care it deserves. It is in an excellent location in Dorchester, kitchen is well equipped with all you need and even offers the off road parking. Please do take some time to read your guest reviews, as I’m not the first guest to make similar comments.

Excellent facilities, reasonable parking, comfortable and practical. Recommend the coffee shop and fish+chip shop on the nearby green.

We loved little Britain property, but we thought it would be nice to have a shower over the bath with maybe a folding panel, need to keep bath as it's needed for bathing babies and toddlers

“House was fab, very roomy, especially as we were missing one of our party who stayed home.”

Tbe cooker was great, did our cooked breakfasts in no time at all, not like previous caravan holiday experiences! The only thing that let it down was the state of the sofas and chair in the lounge. Far too low for elderly (tho still fit 83yr old) father, the 2 seater was damaged - zip broken on rear cushions & torn under the seat cushions. My mother has undergone xrays on her back and hip before coming away and found then difficult to get up from, we had to put the seats from the 2 seater on top of the 3 and still used the large throw pillows to further bolster it. This had been previously mentioned in the comments book from 2017 but clesrly no action taken. On the plus side, we had a problem with the drains -toilets almost overflowing & water bubbling up the pipes in the kitchen sink. Contacted the appropriate number and it was dealt with no fuss or bother, we could even still go out if we wished - which we did. We were also contacted to inform us what the outcome was (blockage at the manhole outside). Excellent, thank you. NB# took me 3 days to spot the comments book in the kitchen. Could be better positioned as comments are dated far apart, perhaps because not obvious???

“We had an amazing week at little Britain.”

It was pefectly located for all we wanted to do. It was lovely to chill in the light and airy kitchen with a pot of tea in the mornings. Warm and cosy in the lounge in the evening, once you warmed your spot on the leather couches. The garden space is lovely for sitting out.....we were very blessed with the weather. All the beds are very comfortable. A real home from home....we are already planning our next visit

“5 little Britain is in an excellent location to walk into the centre of town or to visit further afield by car.”

For example we drove to Portland in no time at all. We tried out the local pub and were very taken with it - a place for a pint and a chat. The interior design is very stylish. We especially enjoyed the various drawings and prints. The plantation blinds were appreciated. The free wi-fi was great. The parking space at the back of the property was handy. We could not spot the “dangerous decking” and wonder what the fuss was all about. The kitchen was well stocked with all the various kitchen utensils and crockery you might ever wish for. If I might be point out some niggles: The sofas in the sitting room though undoubtedly expensive were very low to the ground and oversized. I am 6 foot and in good health but even I had trouble getting up from them. The sitting room also needed some directional lighting ie it was very difficult to get enough light to read. The mantelpiece was aching to have a clock on it and the fireplace could do with a fire – an electric one would do – to give it some focus. There was also the same problem of a lack of reading lights in all the bedrooms. The shower off the main bedroom was underpowered. This is a shame as the one in the bathroom is first-rate.

“The house was comfortable and in a quiet backwater, both of which were much appreciated.”

The art works in the house were a very pleasant surprise. I discovered that some of these had been the work of the owner and this was delightful. The house was well equipped and very nicely presented. It was a very handy base staying there as the location makes for easy access to Dorchester town centre. The facilities were excellent with every modern convenience. Stayed July 2018
