  • "This is our 3rd stay at The Rope House and once again we had a lovely time and are never disappointed."

The property is very clean, comfortable and ideally situated for visiting the surrounding area and for us, visiting family. The owners also have the restaurant that the Rope House sits behind, the food is wonderful and we treated ourselves to Sunday lunch which was really good. We probably will be back

  • "We loved the flat but would have appreciated being made aware of the steep stone access steps."

We are elderly and struggled with these as well as the very low bed and bedroom ceiling. Our dog was very nervous using the steps and had to be bribed to use them! We also had problems with the radiator in the sitting room but this was resolved before we left.

  • "The apartment was very cosy and comfortable."

It had all the things we needed for a 2 week stay. It's a lovely quiet location and I appreciate the private parking for the car. The hosts were both friendly and very helpful and the food at the pub was delicious. A very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable, very clean and very tastefully decorated."

Towels, lots of bath tops but no facetowels. Beds were very comfortable and the fold away bed in the sitting room left lots of space for dining. We felt that a pir light outside the main door would be very helpful as we had difficulty finding the key in the dark. We also found that we lacked a main disposal bin outside the main door. Non of this is a complaint and comments are constructive. We loved the cottage and the very friendly staff and excellent food in the adjoining pub. We hope to visit again, well done to all involved

  • "The accommodation was very nice and clean."

The only thing that we can fault on is that there were not enough cutlery such as not enough plates or knife and forks which meant we couldn't really make use of the dishwasher. We did eat in their restaurant twice below the our accommodation and the food served was excellent.

Perfect location for the two of us and our West Highland Terrier to explore Somerset, Dorset and Devon! The food in the White Horse below is unbelievable and Becky and Richard made us very welcome. A very relaxing place to enjoy our silver wedding anniversary - thank you!

  • "The rope house is a beautiful, high quality place, and a lovely location for a stay."

Would have been great to have info on the local area in the property. There were just a few basics missing in the kitchen that would have been really helpful when eating in. The flies were the main challenge (cluster flies??). We had to have windows closed all the time, but did overcome this largely with fly spray!! The pub has fantastic food, and farm shop a few miles away was also fab.

Rebecca (one of the owners) was very accommodating of our needs and made us feel very welcome. We would recommend this accommodation. We also ate at the White Horse pub which had a lovely atmosphere and food. Good luck in your new venture, Richard and Rebecca and thank you.
