    “A beautiful place to relax.”
    Having very recently returned from the Limes Coach House I can't sing it's praises enough! Comfortable and homely this is the place to completely relax and take it easy and the owners Mr. and Mrs. Powell are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Marvellous.

The property

This lovely stone-built cottage is situated next to the friendly owners' house, midway between the Post Office and the King William IV pub, in the centre of the village of Curry Rivel, in the heart of the Somerset Levels.

A detached former coach house, this Curry Rivel cottage is accessed via its own entrance in the courtyard which separates the cottage from the owners' home.

This charming cottage in Curry Rivel is set mainly over the first floor, above former stables and offers welcoming holiday accommodation for a couple, friends or a family looking to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and numerous rural attractions.

A spacious open plan living area and two comfortable bedrooms at this Somerset cottage offer well-deserved respite after a day spent exploring the area.

Outside this cottage in Curry Rival is a secluded courtyard, all set within a picturesque Somerset garden.

A few minutes' walk away is a pretty village green, a range of interesting shops and a good country pub offering refreshment served within a friendly atmosphere.

Nearby, the beautiful ancient oaks at Swell Wood provide delightful walks, and forming part of a notable RSPB reserve, they offer great birdwatching opportunities too.

Bicycles and helmets can be hired from the owner, and once down off the Curry Rivel ridge, there are fantastic, flat landscapes that are perfect for cycling trips amongst stunning scenery.

There are plentiful National Trust properties and historic houses to explore in this area of the Somerset Levels including Montecute House, Barrington Court, Lytes Cary Manor and Muchenley Abbey, which is run by the English Heritage.

Taunton 11 miles; Glastonbury 17 miles.

Curry Rivel is a charming village situated on a ridge overlooking the magical Somerset Levels to the north, and with marvellous views towards the Blackdown Hills to the south. The village is in an unrivalled area of unspoiled countryside renowned for its birdwatching and willow crafts, such as basket making. Curry Rivel has a picturesque village green surrounded by some thatched houses and facing the parish church, dating from the 13th century. A licensed restaurant, a delightful café, a small range of shops, a petrol station and the King William IV pub, which serves food can also be found in the village. There are nature reserves and bird sanctuaries just down the road and walks can begin at Curry Rivel using marked footpaths. Cycling is fantastic in this area, and if you are a novice you can choose the Somerset Levels for rides in flat, yet beautiful countryside. Somerset offers many outdoor pursuits; there are golf courses at Long Sutton and Taunton, pony trekking centres on Exmoor, and fishing on the River Parrett and at some local lakes. The RSPB West Sedgemoor has the largest lowland population of wading birds in England, such as lapwings, snipe, curlew and redshanks, and the nearby Swell Woods provide delightful walks and forms part of the RSPB reserve. Within driving distance there are some fabulous historic houses and gardens including the NT properties Montecute House and Barrington Court, and the town of Somerton, which offers an ancient market cross, the Somerset county cricket ground and the Museum of Somerset is worth a visit. Further afield there are plenty of other attractions, such as the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Hestercombe Gardens, the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton and the West Somerset steam railway.
