  • "Sofas are very low for elderly people."

Toilet seats were loose. Some of the crockery is very stained. You need a dustbin outside the property. On the plus side the beds were very comfortable and it's a lovely cottage in a nice location.

  • "We spent a wonderful week at the Old Dairy Cottage near Bridport."

The cottage was spacious, light and airy, clean, cool and comfortable. It was provisioned with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The cider and cream tea's to welcome us were delicious and much appreciated. Esther was very welcoming and helpful with her local knowledge of all the good places to visit. As the car driver, I appreciated the ample parking space available.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay here with us. Best wishes Esther Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed a good weeks holiday staying at The Old Dairy cottage."

The cream tea and cider was a lovely welcome surprise and we would definitely recommend this property for touring around Dorset. We were lucky to have very good weather and Esther was very helpful in providing us with fans to make the hot evenings more comfortable. Hopefully we will return.

It was lovely to meet you all and hear about all the different places you had managed to visit. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Esther Property Owner

  • "Generally a nice cottage, however the noise from the main A35 was very challenging so much so that it was impossible to have any windows open at night, it did state that there was some road noise but never mentioned it being that noisy all night long, it is after all a main road, the shower was blocked and it was put right but it shouldn’t have got to that if it was cleaned properly however it was a stunning location but you need a car to get to places even locally as you couldn’t walk along the main road as it was so busy, Dorset is beautiful but sorry I would not go back to the Old Dairy no garden as such to sit in just a picnic bench on gravel!"

I'm sorry the road noise disturbed your stay. We are on the A35, I will make sure that is clear on the booking information. Thank you for alerting us to the shower so we could sort it out straight away. Guests have full use of the 4 acres of grounds which our 4 holiday cottages sit in. Property Owner

The cottage is very well equiped and the Welcome Pack, even including a cream tea was a lovely thought. Although, as to be expected , at this time of year the weather was terrible, it was great when we got back to this warm, welcoming cottage. We would cerainly visit again.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in The Old Dairy. West Dorset has got lots to offer. I hope the sun shines on you next time. Best wishes Esther Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay at the old dairy."

We stayed as 4 adults (including 2 grandparents) and 2 children. The accommodation was perfect and had all we required. A lovely converted farm building very well done. Our hosts were also lovely and the welcome pack was a very well received upon arrival, thank you again. The property grounds were accessible with nice spaces and a public foot path passing through for walks further afield if desired. We had a lovely week exploring the area from Weymouth to Sidmouth. Fossil finding in Charmouth and Westbay harbour were favourites. We would return again. Great accommodation, hosts and area. Thanks for a lovely week.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. It's wonderful to hear your family enjoyed their stay here. We hope to see you again. Best wishes Esther Property Owner

About the location

BRIDPORT

Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
