"Pete & Catherine were warm & welcoming from start to finish."
A tranquil idyll where we felt any cares just melt away. Wood burner for chilly May evenings or the sweet little terrace overlooking fields to recline with an evening glass of wine, listen to birdsong & watch the sun go down.
Homely & comfortable & Ruby (my dog) had a fabulous time racing around with the owners dogs.
We’ll be returning ...

The lodge is in a very secluded area which is perfect for a quiet getaway- peace and calm was what we wanted and that’s exactly what we got. The hosts are excellent: very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Perfect hosts for the week.

"Hosts Catherine and Peter made us feel very welcome in their lovely lodge."
It was a great place to have as a base with our two dogs for a holiday in the New Forest. The lodge had everything we needed and there was a lovely welcome message on the chalkboard outside the lodge when we arrived to make us feel right at home. Catherine and Peter also gave us great information about the area which added to our enjoyment.

"Mr & Mrs Mann are very nice people and made us very welcome, including our Dog ( she is very nervous)."
The cottage is better than it looks in the picture and the area is very quiet. The Cottage is open plan on the inside and has a rustic reclaimed timber lining. It has a good kitchen for self catering. The cottage is a good base too explore the Dorset country side, either on foot or in your car.
We would not hesitate to stay in this cottage again in the future. Apart from the cottage the highlight of our holiday was the walking and a visit to Corfu Castle, and the Swanage railway. A ride from Corfu Castle on a wet afternoon to Swanage and back was good and the Sun came out when we returned to Corfu railway station. We also belong to the National Trust and we explored several National Trust estates in the area.

"Lovely welcome with a chalk board - much appreciated."
The lodge was well equipped, comfortable and our hosts friendly.
The jacuzzi bath not heeded and it takes a lot of water to get a normal bath depth. Other than that we had a lovely stay, peaceful location, suited our needs to go to Lymington and Bruton for planne£ excursions.
Thanks for the welcome fizz and eggs - good touch.
Best to warn people about horses as I have a severe allergy but luckily had medication.
Would be happy to return - thanks Pete and Catherine!

"The longhouse lodge was everything Sykes said."
Quirky, different. A home from home. Everything inside you could possibly need. Welcoming hosts lovely family. Met on arrival which was a nice touch. Our names up on a welcome board outside. Lovely field walk for our little dog gem around the lodge and a short drive away a lovely vast area to walk her. Had our own private space which we called 'the secret garden'. Had a lovely three night break and perfect weather.

"Peter and Cath are the owners and had only taken over the longhouse recently and they excelled in making my partner and l stay exceptional."
A bottle of bubbly was waiting in our lodge on arrival. All facilities for one week was in place and the lodge was close to their own property. They were at the end of the phone or at home if we needed something. The actual lodge was within the owners own grounds and the environment was quite and an idealic location.
I would highly recommend this wonderful lodge as everything is catered for. On the plus side is you are close to tourest location and the beautiful Dorse countryside.
My partner and l will return because l know Peter and Cath are the perfect hosts who also laugh at my lame dad humour.
