  • "Lovely cottage."

Everything you could need. Sue was lovely. Very helpful. Immaculately clean. All in all had a wonderful break and will return again definitely. Have told all our friends too. Stunning views and close to everything just a short drive away. We didn't want to leave. Nala (our dog) loved the garden and didn't want to leave either

The owner was there to greet us. The cottage had everything we needed. Lots of lovely touches, fresh flowers on the table, milk and juice in the fridge. Perfectly clean. Comfortable bed and sofas. We cannot fault it. The garden was secure so our dogs were able to be outside. Sorry to the owners for our barky dachshunds!! We had a fab holiday. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay and we’re very grateful to the owners and the electrical company for resolving the external fault with power supply so efficiently. We would also recommend the local pub!

The only thing we would say is the tv Is a little small for the size of the room. The cottage was beautifully cleaned and fresh smelling all bedding clean and towels laid out ready to use. We arrived to be able to have a cup of tea with a biscuit which was just what we needed after a long drive. The owners where very approachable and happy to help with anything while we stayed. Will definitely come back again in the future. Thankyou

The Old Tack room was exactly as we expected. Our two Yorkshire terriers were in their element. The garden was nicely secure and as the weather was amazing they spent a lot of their time out there. There were some lovely touches. A bottle of wine in the fridge and biscuits. If you want a very relaxing quiet holiday this is for you. Perhaps a minor drawback is that the nearest shop is three miles away but it is very well stocked with everything you may need. The nearest pub is in easy walking distance. However because of the covid problems the only time we booked in to eat had to be cancelled at the last minute due to track & trace. But there are enough other pubs within about 4 miles or so who fitted us in. Altogether we has a wonderful weeks' stay.

The cottage was wonderful, had absolutely everything that you could think of. The owners live next door but are unobtrusive and are a fountain of knowledge and are extremely welcoming and helpful. The garden is fantastic and is very secure, our fur baby loved it so did we, especially watching the birds flitting to and from the bird feeders in the owners garden. We were also privileged to have a Sparrow hawk briefly land on the fence. We would definitely recommend this property and hopefully will be back again in the near future. Thank you Susie for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage.

  • "We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at The Tack Room."

Hosts were unobtrusive yet available to answer questions. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and although the accommodation is small, the hosts had thought of everything. There is a lovely private garden with table and chairs and sun loungers, also a washing line. Nice touches like extra towels, clothes drying in the utility area (for your smalls!) elevated the accommodation. Tea and coffee tray set out, welcoming bottle of wine and fresh flowers made us feel welcome on arrival. The situation is very rural, a car is essential and the roads are very narrow, sat nav needed! In return you get to experience the heart of the country, amazing bird life, bats at night and truly feel you are getting away from it all!

If you are looking for clean, well equipped rural accommodation then look no further. The Tack room was extremely clean and equipped with everything that one should need in self catering accommodation. Sue the lovely friendly owner was on hand if needed but never obtrusive. Teddy our lab enjoyed his morning ramble in the nearby meadows and the birds nesting and feeding were a sight to behold. We arrived on a Sunday and left Wednesday, which meant we were unable to test the local pub as it was closed Sunday evening along with Monday and Tuesday days. I would definitely recommend.

List of rules for dog owners as you enter property. Dogs cannot be left unattended which makes it difficult to go out in the evening. Local pub was closed for winter break. Would have been helpful to know this. Woken at 6.30am each morning by owners dogs being let out, setting off sensor light and barking. Their dogs also left excrement in door way of holiday property.

This is a great base from which to visit the many fascinating places in that part of the world. We were blessed with gorgeous weather but there is a lot to do if it isn't so pleasant. Be prepared for narrow, winding roads! The cottage was exactly as expected, comfortable and well equipped. The twin room was a little cramped, better for children than teens or adults.
