Surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this idyllic rural area was immortalised as ‘the vale of the little dairies’ in Thomas Hardy’s novel, Tess of The D’Urbervilles. Explore the scenic byways which criss-cross the vale or seek out the numerous quaint villages, many offering rustic pubs serving real ales and local fayre.
