  • "All I can say is that we were not disappointed at all and the recent feedback we read on prior to booking was 100% accurate."

The lodge was superb, very clean and had all we needed, even down to a couple of torches for when walking home in the dark. Kellie and Steve had thought of everything. The information folder was very helpful, especially the local walks, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Being so close to Wimborne made it easy for any food shopping and walking to and from for meals out. The local pub was just a minute away, but with so much choice to do, we only used this a couple of times, and with staff shortages, left us a little disappointed. The other local bar, The Willet Arms was just a 30 minute stroll and the food was great. Now back to the lodge, what an amazing view whilst relaxing in the hot tub, eye level to the field. Was saw so much wildlife, deer on a daily basis, foxes, badgers, pheasants, and of course their own sheep and the cats, one of which at a distance looked like a fox! We even watched a fox stalk a badger. The grounds were beautiful, with the bluebells in bloom and extensive walks around the fields. The fire pits are a great idea, using one on our anniversary, to just sit with an amazing view, fire roaring away, before then cooking our tea, whilst sipping champagne. The swings and even the wonky croquette pitch were also nice additions, and good fun. We were after a get away from it all holiday, just for the week and we were not disappointed. Steve and Kellie, being close by, were able to fix a loss of WiFi within minutes, and with meeting us on our arrival to explain the hot tub, and leaving us a bouquet of roses for our anniversary, showed they really cared for their guests. I can’t recommend this lodge enough. It exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this lodge . Thank you Steve and Kellie for a wonderful stay.

The view from the hot tub was lovely, we saw deer, foxes, rabbits etc. Robes and slippers for the hot tub use were a plus too. It was so peaceful and very private from the other lodge too which we really liked. Perfect place to relax, unwind and explore!

  • "Deer Lodge is an absolute gem of a place to stay!"

We loved everything about it from the views of the fields from every window to the super comfy bed and fluffy, proper full-sized bath towels. Everything in the lodge is of a very high standard, including the welcome hamper with locally sourced produce. We made full use of the 13 acres of the owners' woodland and fields available to guests; star watched in the private hot tub in the evenings, toasted marshmallows on the fire pit, swung on the swing hanging from a large old oak tree and attempted a game of croquet on the 'lawn'! The wildlife didn't disappoint either - we spotted the deer in the woods on several occasions and happened to be up at dawn one morning only to see two of the deer very close to the lodge! With a lovely local pub and farm shop within walking distance and so many places to visit within a few miles of Deer Lodge, we can't wait to stay at the lodge again.

  • "This is a wonderful property."

A real home from home. All the necessary facilities that you need to make your stay the best experience, including dressing gown and slippers. The location itself is fantastic. Walks surround the lodge as well as areas to use swings, BBQ and fire pits, when the weather allows. The wildlife around the area make your stay extra special. We saw deer, foxes, rabbits and pheasants. There is also a local pub which is nice, within walking distance. The facilities of the lodge are perfect, including the hot tub, which we used every day. The location is wonderful to travel to other areas too, which we did. The owners Kellie and Steve are helpful without being intrusive. We will be returning one day.

Hot tub was ready to go when we arrived, the handbook provided was so helpful we used it to book a few different restaurants and we visited all the recommended farm shops. I really can't say enough nice things! We are hoping to go back to this very special place.

Treats such as scones with jam & cream were so nice & use of facilities such as record player & croquet pitch added to the unusual experience. • "We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Lodge and the options for walks in the surrounding area."

There were good options for shops and a good bus service, meaning use of our car was infrequent. There is a good pub and restaurant close to the property, the Lambs Green Inn, but about half an hour's walk away is the Willett Arms which was excellent. Kellie and Steve, our hosts were most personable and helpful, yet unobtrusive. A very relaxing week.

Kellie and Steven are excellent hosts, who were both very attentive and welcoming. The property sits away from the road, with acres of land as it’s back garden. Deer lodge is stylishly modern with an homely feel to it; which is very warm and cosy. Lots of light throughout as their are windows in every room, with french doors that leads to your own private patio that has its own hot tub.... We will both miss being in the hot tub under the stars while drinking prosecco, the added robes and slippers that was supplied made it special. We loved the retro record player and vinyls to choose.. There was also board games to choose from, such as monopoly, scrabble, uno etc You do also have a tv in the lounge, with an abundance of shows to select from, as it includes Netflix and amazon prime ... Very well equipped inside with all the needs, such as microwave oven , coffee machine , all the utensils you will need .. toaster , kettle , ironing board and hairdryer. Very comfortable bed in the bedroom, walk in shower in the bathroom. We were also delighted to find some chocolate and cider in the fridge on arrival, even more so the mince pies :) There are also deers on the property, which you will find within the grounds, also outside is a fire pit with seating, and a swing from a tree. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we will be back - maybe in the summer? Dean and Fawne
