Bere Regis is just over a mile from the cottage and is a quiet but charming place to visit, with a few pubs and a village shop to browse.
The historic town of Wareham is slightly further afield, sitting along the River Frome, which provides a lovely backdrop to a day out here, you'll find a good selection of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants and galleries.
Pay a visit to Monkey World, an ape rescue centre with more than 250 rescued animals, plus the delightful Wareham Forest offers plenty of picturesque strolls and see if you can spot some of the amazing wildlife that inhabits the area, including deer and lizards.
Also take a trip to the tank museum with a number of tank fest weekends.
Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are 10 miles from the property with its glorious beaches and the opportunity to walk the incredible Jurassic Coast.
