Was a privilege to be able to stay in such a historic cottage with original features, lots of character - stayed July 2017 The kettle developed a leak during our stay, I phoned Dream Cottages, who replaced it the next day. Could not fault the cottage or the service from Dream Cottages. Hope to return in the future and would highly recommend. Stayed for a family holiday - 3 adults and 1 dog.

The property

Badgers’ Cottage is situated in the heart of the village of Langton Herring, in Dorset.

With its white washed walls, exposed beams throughout and thatched roof, this classic cottage is ideal for the perfect family getaway to the Dorset countryside.

Entering through the front entrance porch you will find yourself in the lounge with it’s large inglenook open fire ready to provide you with many lovely evenings in front of the fire.

There is a piano in the small dining room which can be used for your family sing-alongs, this then leads through to a cosy kitchen with a door into the back garden.

Make your way up the cottage style stairwell with its low headroom to the first floor where you will find a small shower room and two bedrooms; the first a Family sized main bedroom with both a double and a single bed and the second bedroom which has a unique built-in toe-to-toe twin set of single beds. The garden is not enclosed and incorporates a seating area as the country style mismatched stone paved pathway leads you to the lawn at the rear of the garden.

A communal path to the neighbour’s garden passes through this space – so be ready to say hello and meet some charming locals! Located within Langton Herring is The Elm Tree Inn, after exploring the local streets why not pop in and sample some of the home cooked meals, especially the Sunday carvery. Located between the westerly resorts of Bridport, with its lively market town feel and West Bay which has a sleepy seaside harbour feel and the sandy beach resort of Weymouth with its family appeal, Badgers Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the wonderful World Heritage Jurassic Coastline of Dorset. Only a short journey to other beautiful towns along the south coast of Dorset, and with its countryside setting Badgers cottage is ideally located to showcase the best that Dorset has to offer.

A stroll along the adjacent coastal path provides you with spectacular views across the Fleet Lagoon, home to many migrant birds, whilst a trip to nearby Abbotsbury, with its swannery and sub tropical gardens is a must. Alternatively, visit Weymouth with its bustling harbour or just soak up the sun enjoying the watersports and numerous attractions. Should you tire of all this take the scenic coastal journey towards West Bay, the setting for TV’s Broadchurch series.
