  • "A traditional family home with a modern kitchen, dining room, sitting room & spacious conservatory."

The owners had thought of everything we might need; really comfortable. A quiet location in a friendly village with several shops and a pub. Beautiful Dorset countryside with lots of interesting places to visit. The perfect holiday home.

We are so glad that you enjoyed the house and your holiday, thank you for your lovely feedback! We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future. Property Owner

  • "The property is beautiful spacious and well equipped."

The conservatory is large plenty of light lovely area to chill with family play games and eat. In the hall way is a cupboard full of games. Beds were really comfortable to sleep in for the whole family .Bed sheets really good quality nice and crisp. The whole house is quality the antique furniture look goes with style of house and area not everyone's taste we liked it. I noticed in feed back in 2022 & 2023 was mention about replacement of sofa's and easy chairs were not comfortable. I had hope this action was taken before we had arrived. Sadly this was not the case. For us as a family let the house and stay not positive experience. When wanting to relax after along day out with family. Only place we could sit was in the kitchen on hard chairs and wooden hard chairs in the conservatory or in the bedrooms. Hope the owners really take note about sofas. Katherine.

Thank you so much for your feedback Robert, we are very glad that you enjoyed the house and had a good holiday. We will check all the sofas and chairs again this winter and replace any springs or cushions if necessary, but all of them are of good quality and were reviewed and several resprung last winter. If any wear and tear has occurred during the course of this season, it will of course be rectified, as we live in the property over the winter, and also enjoy our comforts! We value all feedback from our guests as we continue to improve and maintain the property. Thank you again. Property Owner

  • "Could be a lovely house if updated a little."

Some of the furniture needs a makeover. Lovely conservatory but the seating needs some improvement to make it comfortable as it is very saggy. Had a nice week as there is lots to see and do in the area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comments about Little Orchard, customer feedback is always very important to us. We are so glad that you had a good week. With regard to the furniture, much of it is in keeping with the age of the house, and of good quality. With these older pieces our aim is to keep them in good order while maintaining their character, and the general character of the property. We accept that squishy sofas and chairs are a matter of taste, but the big sofa and the conservatory chairs were resprung last winter, and we will definitely look at at replacing any tired seat cushions this winter where necessary. We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future. Property Owner

  • "A lovely home from home in a very friendly village; a well equipped shop is just at the end of the road together with a fish and chip shop that we would recommend."

. The accommodation is very spacious. We loved the garden room and made this our base. A very well equiped kitchen made the cooking easy. Although we didn't meet the owners they provided a lovely welcoming email and a folder in the property which gave a host of useful information. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Thank you Susanne for your lovely feedback. We are so glad you had a good week, and enjoyed the house, and hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "A really lovely property."

Plenty of room for families and great sized bedrooms. The only downfall was the sofas and easy chairs. New seat cushions are badly needed as they are not at all comfortable. Would definitely recommend property as we had a lovely holiday.

Thank you so much for the largely positive feedback, and for taking the time to submit it, which is much appreciated as it helps us to keep on top of any problems and improvements needed. We are aware that the large sofa needs some attention and this will probably be replaced this winter. As a result of your, and a couple of previous reviews, we will be looking at all the chairs and sofas over winter, and we will upgrade or replace where necessary. We are so glad you had a lovely holiday. Property Owner

We were there in the heatwave so it was lovely to be in the shade in the garden. Would certainly return

Thank you so much for letting us know, and for your lovely feedback! I am sure that the wonderful weather was in no small part responsible!! We are so glad you had a good week, and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful week we had, definitely enhanced by this accommodation and it's gorgeous garden."

It's so spacious and well equipped (they thought of everything!) and more like a mansion than a house. The conservatory is huge and we spent a lot of our waking time in there as a family, playing board games from the cupboard, eating our meals, etc. The only suggestions would be to replace the sofa's and easy chairs. They are not the most comfortable. The formal dining room was a bit funereal but didn't matter to us as we never used it.

Thank you Glynis for your lovely feedback, and we are so glad you had a good week at Little Orchard. We do plan to have the large sofa reupholstered this winter, and will of course review all of the other arm chairs and sofas. The formal dining room may indeed be a little too formal and I will also look at lightening it up a bit this winter! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "The house and garden were beautiful."

We particularly liked the conservatory. We also appreciated the detailed information sent to us by the owners prior to our arrival. When there was an unavoidable plumbing problem it was sorted immediately.

Thank you so much for your very positive feedback, it is very much appreciated and we hope to welcome you back to Little Orchard in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week in Little Orchard."

The house was perfect for two people, with plenty of space for us. Although a semi detached property we were not disturbed while we were there and it felt very cosy and private and everything was provided to make our stay comfortable.

We are so glad you enjoyed your week at Little Orchard. The house is indeed very spacious for only two people, and while both the house and the garden have ample capacity for eight guests, we only let for a maximum occupancy of six people, in order to emphasise the roominess of the property for our guests. We hope to welcome you back in the coming year! Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Little Orchard."

It is very much a family house, spacious, with a comfortable lived-in feel, lots of character, and a lovely well-maintained garden. There are plenty of separate spaces downstairs and the utility/boot room is very useful. The kitchen is mostly well equipped although a little uneven, eg. a brilliant range of mugs and glasses but seemed short of cereal/pudding bowls, and some new pots and pans would be helpful. Comfortable double bedrooms with feather pillows and duvets (an alternative for those with allergies would be useful). A large, bright family bathroom. The ensuite could be useful after an update, although it is tiny! Overall, we found it a relaxed and cheerful home for a busy family holiday.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your holiday at Little Orchard, and that you found the house comfortable and welcoming. The bowl supply was reduced a little following a customer remark that some bowls had been "lightly chipped" but has now been restocked. With regard to the hypoallergenic pillows, these have always been available on request, and this will now be made clear in the welcome email to guests. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to be able to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

Most of your time however, will be spent in the spacious conservatory equipped with a farmhouse dining table and comfortable seating with a wood burning stove to stave off Autumn and Winter evening chills.

The room is bright and airy with views out across the magnificent garden to the side and rear.

Tiled floors provide a Mediterranean vibe and invite you to unwind in this beautifully light and airy atmosphere.

Head upstairs and off the landing you will find four lovely bedrooms providing your party with plenty of sleeping versatility.

Each one dressed in crisp white linen, there is a super-king, two king size rooms and a twin room.

A family bathroom with double-ended slipper style bathtub & separate shower allows for a relaxing soak or refreshing drench to start your day. The wraparound garden at Little Orchard is a colourful array of mature planted beds and a lovely large lawn with a pebbled seating area equipped with garden table and chairs providing a place for summer barbecues and alfresco dining.

The beautiful rolling landscape affords wonderful walking both coastal and inland.
