  • "We had a fantastic week at Norden House, the cottage is beautiful and the mud room was a godsend!"

! The property was spotless, and had everything we needed. Our only complaint would be that there was no visitors book, it would be nice to be able to recommend places locally and see other guests recommendations

  • "Lovely start to our stay with the fire lit, beautiful Christmas tree & a yummy welcome pack, including biscuits & pink bubbles."

Thank you. The property has great facilities, everything lovely & clean. Beautiful fireplace, with a good supply of logs for our stay. Everything you need for your fur baby too…including an enclosed safe outside area. There was even an umbrella & torch for those early morning/late night doggie outings! The owners were so lovely & welcoming, we will definitely be going back…can’t recommend highly enough…friendly pub next door was a bonus…everywhere was dog friendly & close to all our favourite places, including West bay, Thank you for making our New year so memorable.

  • "The four of us had a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable week at Anne and David's superbly furnished Nordern House."

Everything we needed was there. They had decorated the house with fine Christmas decorations and a lovely tree. They even provided newly bought roasting trays in case we needed them for Christmas dinner. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. We would certainly go again.

Boot room and shower room. Fabulous kitchen, snug. My only one thing would be the Sofa wasn't the best. Looked good but extremely uncomfortable. On a wet day a cosy sofa would have made it perfect. Very freindly helpful people , pub did great food, local coffee shop great. Surrounding area was worth a visit, beautiful and pretty. If your in the height of summer it's so worth staying at Norden House, plenty to see.

We were made to feel welcome from arrival with an arrival note and gift. The cottage is well equipped and maintained, with everything needed for a stress free time. The hosts have paid particular attention to detail and even the dog was catered for. The location is perfect for dog walks. The hosts were accessible if needed from arrival and easy to communicate with.

I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a well equipped property. It’s a lovely old property modernised sympathetically and a nice quiet village. Our 3 generation of family with dog lived very happily there for a week.

An old building with bags of character, the house is beautifully decorated and oozes quality and charm, fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay comfortable, a lovely gated private garden at the end of the drive was welcoming in the evening to have a refreshing drink and let the dog run around, also an old style refurbished caravan to use if the weather takes a turn for the worse, all this made our holiday memorable I would highly recommend a stay here.

  • "We had a lovely break in Norden House."

It's a very well equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated house. We were made to feel very welcome as were our dogs. We also really appreciated the logs. There's a very comfortable mattress in the en suite (I believe replaced by the owners following previous feedback). Maiden Newton is very well situated to explore beautiful Dorset. Thank you Anne. We hope to be back.

  • "Made to feel welcome and dealt with queries quickly."

Overall a lovely cottage but spoilt by the very poor mattress on the bed in the en-suite which was extremely uncomfortable and would prevent us considering a return visit.

  • "Norden House was a wonderful place to stay - no expense was spared top quality and the bed linen top quality and so soft."

However, the mattress in the ensuite bedroom was a little too soft and there was a tendency to roll inward so at some point the owners might want to replace the mattress. On balance though the accommodation was amazing.

We had a fantastic week stay here. The cottage was truly amazing with period features. Everything you could have wanted the house was equipped with it. There was 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 dog in our party and there was tonnes of space for us all. The outdoor paddock was something special with a added retro caravan for us all to enjoy. My wife and I stayed out till the early ours stargazing and enjoyed a bottle of champagne. We will be going back as the location is perfect for walkers, beaches, lovely towns to shop and so much more. We came back Friday 8th and already looking to book up again. The owners are fantastic and on hand if anything is needed. Thanks Danny Carter-Walford

We all loved the property and really enjoyed our stay. It is also well stocked so has everything you need. It is in a great location with easy access to many local places of interest and beaches. My only criticism is the check in and out times 5pm is too late and 10 is very early when you have to strip all the beds as well as pack everything up to leave.

The owner and her family were very welcoming and the accommodation was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable. It was only a short walk down the drive to an enclosed garden which contained a small caravan and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. The village of Maiden Newton was very pretty, especially the walks along the river which were 5 mins from the house. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • "What a wonderful place in the perfect location for exploring Dorset."

Nordon House is lovely making you feel like it's a home from home with some thoughtful touches throughout. The garden is at the bottom of the drive detached from the house but this is perfect creating a cute little hideaway for either for a peaceful drink or play, Jack hasn't stopped talking about how good the garden was since we got back. The neighbours are really friendly and Jack loved getting to know the dogs. We will hopefully be booking again but for selfish reasons wish it wasn't so exceptional as we know it will be a struggle to find availability during school holidays as it gets more and more popular. Overall I would recommend if you want a great location with local shops on your doorstop for supplies and a good sized holiday home offering you everything you need to create those memories. Thank you to David and Anne for letting us stay at your exceptional holiday home. P.S. having 3 showers within the property was brilliant. Thanks again Mark

Every little detail thought of (including a beer fridge in the classic caravan in the garden) - restored my faith in holiday cottages in the UK. The village was great with good facilities (petrol!, pub and groceries), and well located.

  • "We had a lovely week at this cottage."

The facilities were as listed however I felt that there could of been a few improvements. It would have been fantastic to have a BBQ in the garden next to the caravan to use. The towels and bedding were of great quality however a bath sheet would have been better than 2 bath towels ideally. Having a few extras provided in the kitchen would make this accommodation 5* even if the price went up slightly to cover the cost. Overall we had a great stay. We picked the hottest week of the year and the desk fans were an added extra. Thank you
