  • "Truly wonderful cottage, ideally situated for a quiet getaway."

Villagers were all friendly and the cider barn has a good cafe and veg shop. Fantastic welcome pack of eggs, cheese, milk, jam, fresh bread, butter and tea. Stayed in a cold February and the home was wondefully warm. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was great. Kitchen was well equipped. If I was being super fussy I would suggest only three things that would improve this property , 1. Microwavable bowls / small casserole 2. Rearrange the cupboard to the right of oven to hold plates and leave space for food in the wall cupboard- to avoid underfloor heating warming the food. 3. Replace the mirrored cupboard in the shower with a flat mirror to make the sink easier to use. Will definitely go back.

  • "A beautiful cottage with great facilities."

Only issue was trying to watch a dvd we couldn’t get any sound from the tv, I’m very tech savvy so I tried all possibilities do it’s possibly down to a faulty hdmi cable, but nothing that affected our wonderful break. It was delightful in the most beautiful location with a cider farm and cafe just across the road with entertainment on some weekends. Having cows at the end of the garden was definitely a highlight for us

  • "The cottage is very nice, garden is pleasant and in a good location."

We found the cottage kitchen to be extremely well equipped as is the overall cottage and we had a very nice stay and thank the owners for the nice gesture of providing some basis provisions oin our arrival -A few points for the owners attention: - The bathroom fan was not working - The hand-held part of the shower could not be made to work - Suggest given the size of the bathroom sink, the cupboard and its mirror directly above it would function better if the cupboard was removed and the mirror placed on the wall then the sink could be used better Overall the cottage was very good

  • "It was an excellent appointed cottage but it was not easy to locate."

An earlier visitor to the cottage also mentioned this. Your photograph is actually the rear view from the garden. The instructions could read "On entering the village pass the church on your left. Within fifty metres there is a turning to the right. Snowdrop cottage is on the corner of this road facing you" All the facilities were excellent in particular the walk-in shower which my wife requires. At home we cook by gas so found the all electric hob/oven a complete mystery - but that of course was our fault. A final point the instructions regarding waste bins etc had not been updated for 2023 & on arrival both bins + food waste + glass jars etc did not appear to have been emptied for sometime. We put all four out on the Monday & let the Reuse collectors take their pick.

  • "The description showed a pub ."

4 miles and also a bath. There was no pub and no bath. The bathroom had a shower. The sink was impossible to use. Had to clean teeth in kitchen sink. The crockery was generally a bit sparse including only one wine glass. However there were plenty of cleaning materials and bedrooms were very comfortable. The living area was very comfy especially the sofa.

  • "On arrival the chlorine smell met you, very unpleasant."

The kitchen was downright dirty, everything you touched felt greasy. We reported this immediately, Sykes Cottages responded well. The next morning we spent cleaning the kitchen. But a certain mustiness lingered. There were still remains of the previous tenants in the fridge. The freezer was frozen solid. The garden furniture was covered with a cover, but it was heavily soiled. The lady from Sykes Cottages cleaned that up for us. It is shocking how such an expensive cottage is delivered in such poor condition. Furthermore, we were not particularly pleased with the amount of crockery, e.g. only four coffee/tea mugs and no cups. So you have to run the dishwasher half empty. The bathroom was not to my liking, there is no decent sink and the shower barely gives any water. We made the best of it. The garden was neatly laid out and well maintained.

  • "A very comfortable cottage with everything you need for a stay away from home."

Having been cleaned after a visit in early April I felt the cottage could have done with a little freshen up for our arrival in May. Also the rubbish bins outside had not been emptied for a long while.

  • "Beautiful cosy cottage and setting."

Amazing cider farm very close by with bar, takeaway drinks and they serve food. Everything you need for that home from home feeling. Only two small improvements we would suggest: 1- Some instructions on how to use the oven 2- Some form of Signal booster for the TV as often only able to get 4 terrestrial channels on it.

  • "Just returned from a long weekend at the Snowdrop Cottage."

What a beautiful, cozy thatched cottage! It really does have everything you need and is in such a peaceful location; perfect for a much needed break! I don’t believe it had been cleaned since the previous people had stayed which according to the guest book, was a month before us. A freshen up would have been nice but nonetheless, we would love to return one day and explore more of Dorset and the surrounding areas! I would definitely recommend the Snowdrop Cottage and am so glad I found it on Sykes!
