  • "We have thoroughly enjoyed staying at Beech Tree Cottage, it is a very comfortable home and its position close to Dorchester makes it very easy to walk to."

The house was clean and had everything you could need for a stay.

  • "We found Beech Tree Cottage to be a clean and comfortable holiday property with everything needed to make our holiday enjoyable."

It was in an ideal location for walking into town, Dorchester having many places of interest to see, and within easy driving distance of the coast and other places of interest such as Tolpuddle. Parking is a little awkward but this problem was solved by leaving the gate open, driving straight in and reversing out although this may be more difficult with a very large car. The only criticism would be that the bathroom would benefit from an update particularly the blind and flooring. Blinds would also have been appreciated at all windows in the main bedroom as we were woken extremely early on several mornings by the sunlight flooding in - no complaints about the sunshine though!!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The vinyl flooring is scheduled to be replaced (following the recent, inadvertent flooding of the bathroom by some guests) and we will certainly look in to your other suggestions. Many thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Beech Tree Cottage."

It was very well equipped, with all one would need for an enjoyable few days though we missed having a garden for our evening drinks. As has already been stated in previous reviews, the parking is difficult, not helped by the fact that there is nowhere else nearby to leave a car as Beech Tree is surrounded by houses with allocated parking spaces. Some of the photographs in the house details are misleading as we could find no river walk/ bridge nearby. Unfortunately, the shower curtain had mouldy yellow marks along the bottom. Would recommend that it is put through the washing machine after each stay. Wall light near the window in the dining area needed a new bulb. Despite these minor points we were particularly impressed by the quality furniture/ fittings, especially in the bedrooms - plenty of drawers, wardrobe space and hangers!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Directions to the river Frome, a 3 minute walk from Cornhill (the town centre photograph on the website) have now been added to the information folder and the shower curtain has been replaced. Spare lightbulbs are supplied in the property should a replacement be required during a guest's stay. Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "From the moment we walked in, we felt at home."

The most important aspect for my partner and son, were the recliner chairs…which they claimed for the weekend. The welcome pack was also very useful and informative. The property is very comfortable, homely and is perfect for a small/medium family. Next time we visit, we would be more than happy to stay again. In fact, we would prefer to stay there if we had the choice. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

  • "This is an absolutely immaculate property."

It is spotlessly clean, spacious and with everything provided that you could think of. From the very well equipped kitchen to the clear and helpful property information files, everything has been very well thought out. It is only a short walk into Dorchester and an even shorter walk to the excellent Bakers Arms. We had a great stay and have already rebooked.

  • "We had a lovely extended stay."

Property had all the things we needed. The support team were responsive when we had questions and the owner was quick to sort a minor problem when it occurred. I would recommend

  • "Beech Tree Cottage was exactly as we expected."

Clean, comfortable and spacious, but lacked any character. We've stayed in 4 Sykes cottages over the past few weeks and this was the least personalized. Had everything we needed but no personal touch. Parking tricky with 2 larger cars. Close to Dorchester centre, supermarket and coast. A good location for exploring Dorset.

  • "Beautiful and immaculate property."

Extremely clean and very well equipped. Felt like home away from home. Good, quiet location. Would highly recommend and be happy to stay again if in the area.

  • "Very comfortable, immaculately clean house."

Location good, short walk to town and Dorchester South station, and close to Waitrose for supplies. Nice selection of books and games. Only quibble would be a bit stingy with the soap, could have done with some in downstairs toilet as well as upstairs. Otherwise everything perfect.

Thank you for your feedback and for bringing the issue of the soap to our attention - we will pick this up with the housekeeping team for future guests. We are delighted that everything else was perfect. Property Owner

  • "A very enjoyable stay, good location, just a small point surprised there were no toilet rolls provided"

Thank you for your feedback. We too were extremely surprised that no toilet rolls were provided as we have a fully managed housekeeping contract in place through Dream Cottages. Having contacted the supervisor, she is unable to explain how this happened and apologizes for this oversight. Property Owner
