If you don’t feel like cooking however, a short stroll into the town centre will bring you to a number of amenities including pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops for picking up the essentials.

To keep you busy whilst here, spend some time discovering the local history by visiting the National Trust property of Stourhead or immerse yourself in wildlife by spending the day at Longleat safari park.

Alternatively, venture slightly further afield to the Somerset and Dorset coasts or explore the famous landmark of Stonehenge.

About 45 minute drive would take you to Wells with it's beautiful cathedral to enjoy.

The city of Bath rests just over an hours drive away and offers plenty of worthwhile attractions, such as The Roman Baths and the Anglican parish church of Bath Abbey.

Also popular is the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, particularly great for exploring Salisbury Cathedral, The Salisbury Museum and a number of other National Trust properties.

A delightful country town of old stone cottages set in a stunning conservation area, on the borders of Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset. This small, lively community is well served by a good variety of local shops and ancient inns, with much of the area to the north of the town designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideal for walking and taking in the breathtaking views, the town is also well placed for exploring numerous National Trust attractions and historic houses. A visit to stunning Stourhead House and gardens, only 2 miles away, is not to be missed, while Longleat House and the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury featured in the Hovis adverts, are also close by.
