  • "Lovely cottage in beautiful countryside."

Owner ‘Liz’ was so friendly and kind ….. have already booked to go back!!

  • "Cottage is in a quiet country location."

Lovely views nearby. Rooms are quite spacious, everything you need with comfortable beds, nice linen and fluffy towels! Lovely bathroom and separate en suite. Only criticism is that the dining chairs and living room suite could do with being updated. Overall a nice place to stay and we would definitely return.

  • "The cottage is in a lovely location."

Having access to the garden & the meadow was a bonus. The garden gets full sun and as we were away in the heatwave an umbrella in the garden would have come in handy. Liz was very helpful in supplying maps, advice on walks and places to eat & visit. It was a pleasant surprise to come back at the end of the day to handpicked fruit on the doorstep. Would recommend the Hive cafe on Burton Bradstock beach, we pre booked their terrace for lunch. It’s very busy, so pre book if you can. Montachute National Trust property was lovely & provided shade. Would also recommend the Winyards Gap inn, spectacular views. If you want a relaxing break and spend your evenings watching the swallows & bats with a glass of wine in the garden. Then book the Dairy

Very dog safe and secure and with everything as depicted in the booking. I believe it has had a full make over during the covid vacant period and is very fresh. Very clean and good quality.

So beautiful. Elizabeth, the owner, was very welcoming and seems to have thought of everything in setting up the cottage.

  • "Lovely clean and comfortable cottage."

Perfect for our two dogs as the garden is enclosed and the meadow was lovely and safe for them to have a run in. The owner of the cottage, Liz, was so nice and helpful. We lit the woodburner as the weather was miserable and she gave us logs out of her own supply until we could get some. Would highly recommend.

Plenty of space, well equipped, clean, fresh and welcoming. Nice welcome pack including local breakfast cereals, biscuits, eggs from owners hens and more. Garden nice to sit in. Hosts on site, very helpful and welcoming. Dog friendly, our 3 particularly liked the owners paddock for a run in the morning.

  • "This is the second time we have visited this wonderful cottage."

Its lovely, clean and well furbished as well as very cosy as we always go out of season to get a complete rest. Beautifully clean bedding and towels are provided. This time we had the storm Aiden lashing us for the first 2 days with very heavy rain and unbelievable high winds but it didnt bother us at all because we were comfortably tucked up in the cottage with the log burner. Ample parking is provided with lots of walks available. We have two energetic dogs with us and they absolutely loved the large enclosed paddock area. There is a local shop that is very well stocked with everything you would need and Liz (the owner) is on hand to ask for any other help you may need. On arrival there are teabags and everything you need to make a lovely cuppa after a long journey. This cottage could not be any better for us to escape the "Rat race" but if you want to keep in touch with whats going on in the world, you have good wifi available to use. Thank you Liz for your lovely cottage its the best place we have stayed in for some years now and we travel a lot. We highly recommend staying at either the Granary or the Dairy. We love it so much we will do our best to book again next year!

  • "We have just returned from a 5 night stay at The Dairy."

The cottage itself is very cosy and has everything you could need for your stay. The woodburner was a very welcome addition, especially during the cold evenings. Good size courtyard which is shared with the cottage next door. Our dog Magnus was very happy to roam around in the enclosed paddock, which was great for a bit of exercise in the mornings before heading out further afield for the day. Excellent location for exploring Dorset & very close to the border of Somerset & Devon. Special recognition to Liz the owner for going above and beyond to help us during our stay. A truly kind and thoughtful host who puts her guests first. We do hope to return again, but for longer next time. Thanks Liz! :)

Liz and Ian were very helpful and the welcome pack containing cereal, biscuits, milk etc was a lovely touch. We enjoyed the garden and our dog Millie had a good holiday too. The beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were top quality. Everything we needed was there. We loved the area and all the pubs, restaurants were dog friendly. I would recommend this cottage to anybody.

  • "I stayed at The Dairy at the end of June 2019, with my husband and two dogs."

I have to say that the cottage was fantastic, and it was perfect for our needs. Liz was a lovely lady and dropped off a punnet of strawberries for us that she had picked. The cottage was so well equipped and spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable too. My dogs had the best times of their lives in the paddock, bounding through the long grass. It was great because it was completely secure too, so we could relax in the knowledge that they couldn't escape. I can honestly say that we just cannot wait to stay again next year.

  • "What a peaceful setting The Dairy was in."

It was fabulous for our sprollie dog because the property was in a walled garden which was safe (no holes to escape through) and the paddock area was great for exercising her. We loved the property. The beds were the best we have ever had in a holiday property, so comfortable. The accommodation was light and airy and really clean. Having a bathroom and an en-suite was good so my husband and I could have one each! It was a reall 'home from home' with lots of information provided on activities and places to visit. Would love to visit again some time. PS. The delicious home made shortbread, milk and fresh eggs from the farm were very welcome and delicious. Thank you for a wonderful holiday - stayed July 2017

  • "The cottage was clean and tidy and everything provided for our stay."

There was a secure garden for our guide dog puppy to play. The paddock area also provided us with dog walking facility. The cottage was located close to Beaminster and within a short car journey to the coast. The owner''s were very friendly and suggested interesting places to visit. We were given freshly picked strawberries and as chickens were kept on the farm we were provided with fresh eggs. Recommended
