  • "Great property, plenty of space."

Pool table a big hit. Lounge only has seating for 5 but we spent all time in kitchen/diner and pool room so no problem. Great area, easy walk to beach and town area and to coast path.

Really well equipped. Only minor problem was use of the TV, particularly the one in the lounge where we couldn't make it work. The one in the games room was a little tricky but manageable (to the younger ones in the group!). Had absolutely fantastic holiday in this lovely house.

Lounge bit on small side. Settee comfortable and recliner. BBQ was nice. Lovely house. Extremely clean. I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, curtains too light, pillow uncomfortable. We will book again.

  • "We were 3 generations of our family and a dog and the house suited us perfectly."

The location was excellent with just a short walk down to a dog friendly beach, or into the town . The large kitchen/dining room with the bifold doors leading to the sun deck was a real bonus (along with the weather) and was our main gathering area. The house was well furnished and supplied with everything you could possibly need. We hope to return one day.

The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was in a good location next to the park and walking distance to the beach. The only issue was that the bed in the second en-suite is broken and would benefit from being repaired.

It is extremely spacious and accommodated all of us comfortably. Absolutely loved the very spacious & well equipped kitchen and the welcome basket was very thoughtful and gratefully appreciated by all. Lovely ornaments and personal touches throughout the property which makes the property very homely. It is in a great location, with everything you need within easy reach. There is a park behind the property. 10mins walk to the beautiful sandy beach. Local pub a few mins away. The property is exceptional and look forward to returning again soon.

Well equipped for preparing and serving meals. Close to the beach and walks from Swanage. A couple of very small niggles! A bit more cutlery and some sort of pad on the bottom of the kitchen chair legs to prevent the very noisy scraping!! Otherwise a very comfortable house.

  • "We all (6 adults and 4 children) had a lovely week here."

The house was very nicely decorated and kitted out. The kitchen/diner was where we spent most of the time in the house and was a really great space for socialising, cooking and eating. The pool room was also a great touch that was used every day. The house is ideally situated to walk to the park, beach, shops, steam train and view points. It is also well located for a short drive to some lovely places. When we arrived there was a welcome basket of wine, biscuits chocolate and tea, which was a lovely touch. We would happily stay here again.

Thank you Simon for comments. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. This is our third year of letting and we have tried to take on board our guests comments and suggestions at the end of each year. It is nice to receive good feedback and we hope that you will return again soon. Property Owner

  • "On arrival, we were delighted to be greeted with festive decorations, including a tree with lights, plus a very nice welcome pack, all left by the kind owner."

We were a group of four couples, plus one dog, each couple had the use of their own bathroom, - 2 bedrooms were en-suite. The master bedroom is fabulous! The house is perfect for a large family or friends, the kitchen diner became the hub of the house, adjoining the very popular games room, with pool table, a great addition to the overall ambience. It is situated in an ideal spot for the beach, there is a lovely park immediately behind that dog owners will appreciate, plus views of Ballard Down from the front bedroom windows. A very quiet and peaceful area to stay. The house was always warm, (a bonus in the winter time) the entrance hall has a bench sitting over a radiator, useful for warming up after a long walk, with plenty of space to store wet boots and coats. It was spotless on arrival, the kitchen is very well equipped, plenty of space to sit and move around each other. On our first night we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and hired a professional chef to cook for us all, he remarked on the impressive size of the range cooker and spacious working area. It will be a fantastic house to stay in during the summer months, with its bifold back doors and huge bbq, plus the stream trickling nearby. We have no hesitation in recommending this impressive house and hope to return before too long.

  • "Lovely house overall."

Points to note for the owners. 9 of us and no large saucepan although we found a large saucepan lid. Nowhere near enough teaspoons. No toilet brush in upstairs bathroom ( non en-suite) Days and instructions of rubbish/recycling/needs to be clearer. We met the glass recycling men, and they could only take ours because the previous tenants had put it in the normal recycling bin. We left both recycling and ordinary rubbish out but nothing was taken the week we were there. Only publish to owners as generally the house was lovely. Thanks

Park at the back was really lovely and not noisy. Had a lovely welcome basket. It swanage and the surrounding area is beautiful, can highly recommend getting the ferry to Sandbanks and Knoll beach. Swanage beach is lovely but as we had a dog could only use the far end of it but there was another cafe/shop and toilet. All round a brilliant week away.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely stay at 49 Ulwell Road."

The house was beautiful and perfect for our group of 9 (4 adults and 5 children). The kids enjoyed the pool table in the games room. The garden is quite small, in comparison to the size of the house, and not completely ‘dog secure’, but there is a large park just behind the house that we used everyday. The location of the property is perfect for exploring swanage, it is a short 5 minute walk to the beach and a further 5 minute walk along the coast into the town.

  • "The property itself is in a really great location both for seafront and walking particularly if you have a dog."

We have 1 dog and there is right next door a fabulous and well equipped park which was lovely to stroll in and meet the locals its was great for both dog and humans. Then there is an easy walk down to Swanage sea front and the other way up to the hills. THe property itself was very well equipped with life centering around the very large kitchen and the pool room. There reading nook is useful if someone wants a quiet read or a chill out and there is a small living room with comfortable seating but it is quite small. The only minor downside is that for a house that sleeps 9 there is not really anywhere,. with comfortable seating for everyone to be able to congregate for cosy evenings when the weather is not so good. The kitchen is fantastic and huge and there is a lovely outside seating area and massive BBQ for when the weather is better. Master bedroom is lovely the other rooms are all perfectly suitable though a little tired compared to the pristine kitchen and poolroom area. Overall a fantastic stay and we would definitely return but for me it suits us as a 4 or 6 person if you want to be together.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
