A peaceful tranquil setting with open forest nearby. A short drive to Fordingbridge & Ringwood with Salisbury only a little further afield.

  • "Lovely and spacious bungalow with beautiful surroundings."

Downside is that it could feel a bit isolated in winter.

The garden was beautiful, full of life. The views of the paddocks, trees and horses was wonderful. Alex and his family put a lot of effort in to ensure your holiday is spot on. Will definately book again. Thank you.

  • "It wasn’t awful."

It just was a very cold house which is not good when you have a 16 week old baby so I wouldn’t recommend

  • "Larksrise is a lovely holiday cottage."

I am rather disabled with osteoarthritis in multiple joints and, unfortunately, we had to abandon our stay after just one night as all of the furnishings were too low which made it impossible for me to get out of bed, sit in or on any of the chairs and, once in the lovely conservatory, the step back into the lounge was too high. I, also misread the description of where the second double bedroom was, as we spent ages looking for it on the ground floor. It was also impossible for me to get into the shower and my husband, at six feet tall had to stand in the hall to dry himself. I appreciate that I should have made more enquiries before going ahead with the booking but thought you would like to hear these comments as I am sure there will be other people who have similar issues to my own. For an ordinary family holiday it is ideal and the owner has obviously made it really comfortable and pleasing to the eye.

  • "It was so peaceful!"

We managed to relax even with two under 5s! The house was incredibly clean and the host had thought of every little detail so the house was well-resourced. I can't think of one negative. Will definitely be booking again.

Amazing views, incredibly peaceful and such a fantastic setting. Perfectly placed for exploring, not just the New Forest, but so many things, from Longleat to the Isle of Wight. We loved it. I would love to buy it and move there!

  • "This is a lovely peaceful cottage with a suntrap garden with a lovely view."

Well equipped with everything we needed. A relaxing & interesting garden with an abundance of wildlife. A short, but steep walk to forest heathland and also a short walk to the local pub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here straight after the lockdown restrictions and would love to stay here again. S & J

  • "Larkrise is a lovely detached house in a perfect New Forest location."

There are wonderful walks close by and a lovely village pub. The cottage is light and feels spacious with comfortable beds and a lovely deep bath to lie in after a day of walking. The garden is pretty and there is a two acre paddock attached for guests to use. The dog loved it! We would definitely book it again

Fordingbridge is a traditional Hampshire town on the banks of the River Avon, and offers a good mix of shops, pubs and restaurants, a small museum of local history and a display of original work by the artist Augustus John, who lived here for many years. The medieval Great Bridge, with seven graceful arches, is a major feature of the town. The immediate area is a wonderful place for visitors, with its beautiful scenery, nature havens, cycleways and welcoming people. Fordingbridge is conveniently situated for the magnificent cathedral city of Salisbury to the north, and the super seaside resort of Bournemouth to the south. The stunning New Forest National Park is only 1.5 miles from the town, where you can explore thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodland frequented by wild ponies, and dotted with quaint villages and country pubs. Within a short drive is the magnificent Elizabethan manor house at Breamore, as well as the New Forest Water Park, and a trip to Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum is not to be missed. This is a great location for exploring this picturesque and interesting area.
