  • "Great house and garden especially for the dog but the most uncomfortable mattresses ever, all 4 guests said about how uncomfortable they were."

Apart from that it was a very enjoyable stay, especially liked the garden

Good evening Thank you for the feed back We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Cove Cottage and appreciated the garden. We are sorry you and your party found the beds uncomfortable, this is the first complaint about beds. We would like to point out that all our beds and mattresses are fairly new and are a quality brand (Silent Night) . Property Owner

  • "Cove cottage was absolutely a beautiful little holiday home and we felt instantly comfortable there."

It is in the perfect location and very close to an amazing park where our little pup could have her walks and play. The only thing that marred the stay was renovation works to the adjoining property and the cottage was partly covered over with scaffolding. Also we had no privacy in the garden as next door was over-run with builders. I want to stress it was not the owners fault at Cove cottage and we were given a £50 refund for the inconvenience which was very kind.

  • "Beautifully furnished, super clean very comfortable."

Everything thing thought of. Only issue says no dogs upstairs but no gate to keep them downstairs provided which caused issues. Would definately use again. Thank you for super stay.

Thank you very much for your feed back, we are absolutely delighted you had a wonderful stay at Cove Cottage. We have a 12 week old puppy ourselves and have realised the potential issues, going forward we will fit a gate for future guests. Thanks again for your positive review and helpful advice. Everything you need is there in the cottage . Only down fall was the Stairs . Struggled a bit with the steepness .

Thank you for your lovely review of our cottage The stairs are a bit steep and we appreciate that they could be a challenge to some. We are honest about them on the property details. We hope you enjoyed your stay at Cove Cottage Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location."

The cottage is small but big enough for a couple or small family. Furniture and decor are lovely and modern, although there are a few maintenance issues that need attention. Would recommend.

  • "Brilliant location and fabulous garden."

A small compact cottage inside. Kitchen was modern and easy to use. Property stayed nice and cool despite the very hot weather. Good strong shower. Only 1 roll of single ply toilet roll provided so you need to bring your own. No bed side table in the main bedroom. Games box provided lots of entertainment. We liked having Google assistant as the radio. It also looks like there is significant damp in the adjoining wall, however the owners state this look is intentional of the wall treatment used in the handbook and there is no damp, this could be painted over if the issue is fixed, as I may hesitate at this reasoning if visiting in the colder months or if traveling with a companion with a respiratory condition. Unfortunately the kitchen and living room were not so clean on arrival, sand on the floor in the living room and the kitchen sink did not appear to have been cleaned. The rest of the place was cleaned well. Met the housekeeper who was lovely and helpful, explained she had been away and not cleaned the cottage herself the week we visited so potentially why we had issues here due to different cleaner that week.

Thank you for your feed back The cottage is over 200 years old; we have used the traditional method of lime rendering and casein distemper paint to allow the bricks to breathe, this creates a mottled paint effect. It sounded as though you had wonderful weather, we hope you had an amazing holiday in Weymouth and enjoyed our little cottage. Property Owner

  • "This cottage is a dream!"

As soon as we opened the door it was a wow from us, and everything we hoped it would be. Spotlessly clean and sparkling. The garden was lovely and peaceful, very vell kept and a lot of thought had gone into its design to get the maximum effect from a small space. The only downside for us was the stairs which were very steep and narrow, although what you would expect from an old cottage. So as not to struggle with the case, and to prevent any damage to the paintwork, we unpacked the case downstairs, and left the case in the alcove. It was no big deal for us though. We found it best to leave the kitchen unit lights on, in case we needed the loo in the night which was downstairs. Beds were comfy with crisp white bedding. You couldn't hear a sound at night, very peaceful, and you could hear the sea with the windows open. Just a few feet away from the front door, there were steps to the sea and a lovely walk. Parking was a bit difficult, and we chose to take public transport and leave the car to ensure we had parking, plus we didn't want to have problems with our cases, dog bed etc as it's a bit steep up to the cottage. The owners have taken a lot of care to ensure we had everything we needed, and the cottage was well equipped. Very sad to leave this little cottage, we hope you look after it during your stay ❤

  • "Lovely cottage in a perfect location."

2 mins from beach and 2 min walk from the harbour and town. Cottage was lovely and clean and bright, stairs are very steep so wouldn’t be suitable for small children or anyone with knee problems. Lovely garden which is a real sun trap. We had a lovely stay and our 10yr and 7yr old children loved the cottage.

  • "The cottage was beautiful, so clean and modern downstairs but still had the feel of an older cottage upstairs but still lovely."

The bedding was clean and fresh also the towels, bed super comfortable. The downstairs bathroom was beautiful and kitchen perfect with very clean crockery, utensils and appliances. The side street was quiet and lovely with the water at the top of the hill, there was no noise from any other cottages around and couldn’t hear the town at all. Perfect. The only criticism I would have is the cottage isn’t child friendly for babies or toddlers up to ages 2-3 or men who are well built. The stairs are super narrow and incredibly steep (my husband had to side step up the stairs, there are a lot of sharp corners in the cottage and furniture which is slide-able where a toddling child could slip on the floor. With a child a high chair in the cottage would be very handy we had to feed on lap, and perhaps a fire guard for around the beautiful log burner, we also had to buy more wood and fire starter for the log burner as not much was provided so take this into consideration for your trip because the house is single glazed and was pretty cold even when boosting the heating the cottage didn’t warm up. Beautiful stay though very easy directions easy key access and so convenient for location right near brewers quay and harbour a few minutes walk and into town. Would deffinately stay again but perhaps when our baby is older. Thankyou for a lovely weekend stay.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
