  • “This property is in a good location, close to local amenities, we found it clean and well presented, it does of course have it's flaws, the creaking floorboards are quite excessive and lack of a toilet in the en-suite.”

My main concern was when I reported the fact that the dishwasher required more rinse aid and dishwasher salt and that there was no spare replacement black bin liner to use, I was sent several emails informing me that these items were in the cupboard under the sink in the property, when they were not. A spare bin liner to use after bin emptying day which was early Friday morning would be nice. I would highly recommend that the owner of this property reads the messages in their guest book as I'm ...

I would highly recommend that the owner of this property reads the messages in their guest book as I'm not the only person to raise this matter. If your planning to rent this property then take your own cleaning products and a spare black bin liner, because these were not provided during my stay, except for some washing up liquid, a dish cloth and a Tea Towel.

The property

Travel down to the bottom of England and find in the village of Pennington, near Lymington, a semi-detached property called Oaks Reach, a lovely destination with great links to major towns and nature surrounding your doorstep.

Ideal for those looking to traverse the New Forest National Park for some walking and cycling opportunities, or for those just needing a break away by the coast to take in some sea air, Oaks Reach offers you a home-from-home.

Park up on the spacious drive, enter through the front door and find the contemporary kitchen waiting for you at the front of the house.

Benefiting from sleek black worktops, and gloss white cabinets with plenty of storage, anyone who likes to get to work in the kitchen will love cooking up some delicious dishes in here.

Branching off this space is the utility area which contains the washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge/freezer, granting you extra room where you need it most in the kitchen.

Let those tired legs rest after a day of exploring by spreading out on the leather sofas found in the open-plan sitting and dining area, enjoy your favourite show on the TV, or choose a film from the selection of DVDs and relax.

The dining table sits in front of the French doors which lead onto the patio, meaning you can still enjoy the last of the evening light as it drenches the room, or why not take the whole dining experience outside alfresco style on a balmy evening.

When it's time to head upstairs to bed, you can choose from four excellent bedrooms, the master bedroom being a king-size with an en-suite shower room, while a twin and two singles make up the other rooms, each with storage for your belongings, and serving them is a family bathroom containing a bath, shower over, basin and WC.

Pennington is situated south of the New Forest National Park, a living and working place where ponies, donkeys and cattle graze freely to help keep the patchwork of different habitats intact, while wild deer stroll deeper in the forest unchanged and unspoiled.

The majority of walks and routes involve wildlife so it's a beautiful and special place to visit, and is a haven for any birdwatcher with around 100 species of breeding birds around.

Head over to the centre of Lymington and marvel at the luxury yachts and fishing boats at The Quay, as Lymington is a major yachting centre with three marinas.

The famous sea water baths date back to 1833 and promise a lot of fun splashing around, with inflatable fun on offer as well as stand-up paddle boarding and even aqua jousting!

Oaks Reach will make a great hub to come back to after adventure filled days on England's south coast.
