“We were very disappointed with the twin beds ( divan only had 3 wheels the other was an iron bedstead both with very poor and uncomfortable mattresses), both need replacing, also the kettle was rank and totally unusable we had to go and buy one to use, only one key to back door and that was in key safe, all that aside it is a nice house but requires some TLC.”
we would like to go back but only if are comments have been taken up.
“We had a lovely week, lovely weather and Oceana is a lovely house in a good convenient location but has been allowed to deteriorate and now needs a great deal of TLC.”
When we had a problem with the heating (radiators hot in July!) this was sorted very quickly – thank you. He also replaced lightbulbs which we had not noticed at that point were missing/blown – worryingly, when he replaced the light bulb in the single bedroom it kept blowing so he left it without a bulb – we were not using the room so not a big deal, but does this mean the electrics need attention too? Garden – nothing like the pictures on the website of a neat and tidy garden – it was overgrown and badly in need of weeding and the grass cutting Dustbin needed emptying – dirty nappy left beside the wheelie bin was disgusting and should have been removed during the changeover “clean”, presumably from previous occupant (equally disgusting!) Conservatory - dirty inside and out Kitchen – floor needs repairing and is a trip hazard. There was a jar of instant coffee and some fruit tea bags, as well as some out of date milk pods – if a welcome tray is going to be provided then let’s have some proper teabags and in-date milk! Master bedroom – children’s sock behind the ottoman + dirty cotton bud on top of the wardrobe demonstrates the very approach to change-over clean All the single mattresses need replacing, the slats underneath can be felt through the saggy soft mattresses – my 82 year old mother ended up sleeping on the sofa in the living room.
“Accomodation was very nice, we felt like at home.”
We spent nice 3 days there.
“We had a lovely week in this well equipped house.”
It was really good to have the Spar and Co-op shops close by.The directions on how to find the cottage were a real help.We would recommend to all.
“We liked the cottage but initially had difficulty with both keys.”
I could not lock the back door on one occasion but my husband eventually figured it out. Also the same issue with the front door key. My husband had a problem with one of the easy chairs as he is very tall and found that his back was hurting after sitting in that chair for a while. He swapped it with one of the chairs in the conservatory. Apart from that we were very happy with the cottage.
“Good location close to pub shop and beach.”
Mattresses rather soft
“Enjoyed oceana lovely garden everything on your doorstep buses great enjoyed weymouth lots to do booked again next year”
“This is a very good holiday cottage in a good location and would recommend it.”
There are always some little niggles, main 2 are: 1. Garden not very secure for small dogs especially as there's no front gate. 2. Unable to open some windows, particularly the bathroom window.
“Lovely cottage placed really well for exploring the area.”
Sykes app was brilliant , really useful.
“Home from home.”
. comfortable bed, garden needed attention?
“Second visit to cottage but was disappointed this time to find the garden in such a bad state.”
Looked like nothing had been done for months, Both small lawn areas were so overgrown & full of weeds. Could not use lawn area at all. Looked like garden had not been attended to for months - weeds everywhere. Had to use table & benches in patio area to relax. Lovely cottage but garden spoiled it.
“Felt very homely at Oceana.”
A very convienient house for beach, pub, shop and bus. Would definitely book this house again
“A really relaxing, home from home.”

“It was our 2nd stay at Oceana, lovely house.”
“We enjoyed our stay and the weather was better than forecast.”
The house was lovely and warm and it was so nice to have the large size bath towels. The beds were nice and comfy. There is a bus stop just down the road with a regular bus service into Weymouth. The nearby Spar shop was very useful and we had a lovely meal in the Bridge Inn. We didn’t do much cooking, just used the oven once or twice and it was quite easy to use.
