  • "Had a wonderful time and the cottage is absolutely beautiful, will book again."

I knock off one star only because the house needed a deep clean in my opinion. It was rather grubby in places and we found a single baked bean on the kitchen table (this did make us laugh though). So overall yes very satisfied, just let down slightly by the lack of quality cleaning. Also anyone staying makes sure you sign out of Netflix!

  • "We've just returned from a perfect week's stay at Burwell Cottage."

Agree with a previous reviewer that the pictures don't do it justice, it's even bigger and nicer than it appears from the photos. It was only my husband and I plus our dog so the extra space made it feel super luxurious but it would accommodate six comfortably. The house is fully equipped down to even the smallest detail, particularly the kitchen. The fridge freezer is huge and the dishwasher was ample size for the two of us. The bed in the main bedroom is amazingly comfy. The garden is small but very pretty and catches the sun most of the day. It was a good size for the two of us and felt private. The village itself is lovely and quiet, there is a pub a few doors down with a good menu and nice beer garden. More pubs and lovely little farm shops a few mins drive away. We honestly couldn't fault it and would definitely return.

  • "The photos don’t do the cottage justice - it’s even nicer than it looks."

Comfortable, spacious, well equipped with plenty of hot water and everything you might want in the kitchen. The village is charming and friendly with lots of lovely walks, short drive to the beach and Bridport (nearest large town) is a 20 minute drive and has everything you might need for a longer stay.

  • "We had a really lovely time in Burwell Cottage."

There were four of us plus a small dog and we stayed over Christmas. The kitchen is very well equipped which meant we were able to cook a delicious Christmas lunch without any issues. There is plenty of space in the cottage - a table for dining in the kitchen (seats 4) but also a more luxurious dining table in the living room as well as large sofas for watching tv. The two double beds are large and very comfortable. The location is brilliant for walking, getting to the beach and in to Bridport for shopping. We would have no hesitation in recommending Burwell Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

  • "Wonderfull stay at Burwell cottage Punknowle."

...beautiful village...easy access to all the towns and wonderful walks...good food every day at various pubs and cafes...my one concern downstairs hall way to lounge step down...quite dangerous for lesser sighted people and should have hazard strip...loo brush in downstairs toilet minging and rusty...cobwebs behind wall lights in lounge (no spiders or cobwebs if you put fresh conkers on window sills from autumn)...beds very comfy and lounge furniture perfect and every thing you need for cooking...very nice touch milk tea and coffee for arrival...needed help with central heating and owner very helpful and concerned we were kept warm due to time of year...would definitely visit again very good value.

  • "A lovely cottage with everything you could wish for in the way of facilities and the owners were more that helpful every time we had occasion to talk to them."

It has two good sized double bedrooms plus one with bunk beds that would suit a couple of kids provided that they haven't gotten to large. The shower is excellent and the bath is very modern albeit we didn't use it. Essentially the bath room is a wet room Puncknowle a great base to explore the Chesil Beach area plus some wonderful countryside to back that up. Just remember that swimming is not always advisable due to the strong currents at some locations. Do try the pub just a few yards down the road, the food is limited but very tasty and the staff are excellent. There is also a fantastic farm shop no more than a couple of miles away, well worth a visit.
