  • "This was out first family holiday with our 10 month old baby."

I was a little nervous, however it was perfect! Perfect location (10 min walk to the front) the apartment was very comfortable and included everything we needed. I have had numerous stays with Dream Cottages and will continue to always come back, we love Weymouth and it holds special memories for my family.

  • "The Flat location within Weymouth was very good."

Easy to find and local amenities close by, including pubs and shops. Flat had plenty of space. Short walk to the sea front. Approx 10 mins . Only draw back was the grounds, car port area and the car park could do with a good clean and tidy up.

  • "The key safe is very difficult to open and close not very user friendly."

The stairs are very step to carry bags. The entrance hall was shabby needed some TLC. The yale lock on the apartment door is not very secure and the dead lock needs adjusting it is very stiff. The shelves in the kitchen cupboards are to high, could not reach without standing on a chair not very safe. Not a very well thought out kitchen.T The bath needed a hand rail to help getting in and out of the shower very slippy. The toilet bowl needed a thorough clean very stained I tried using a dishwasher tablet to clean it.The bedding and towels were first class. This is the worst Sykes Cottage we have ever been to.

  • "A couple of negatives: When we arrived, as soon as my daughter touched the toilet roll holder, it fell off the wall."

Presumably it fell off when the previous occupants were in there and they just bodged it back on. I've fitted those myself and I know the screw had come undone, so it's easily fixed. I left it on the cabinet in the hall. The kitchen needs an extra baking tray. Cooking for three people, if you're doing e.g. fish and oven chips, one small tray isn't enough. One of the single beds - the one that's furthest from the door - is very 'squishy' and gave my daughter backache. I think it would be worth the owner getting a new mattress for that one ASAP. The carpets could do with a good clean. When I ran the vacuum over them, they stank. This may be because you allow pets in the apartment, I don't know but they are very dirty. That's the negatives. On the positive side, the apartment is a good size and apart from an additional baking tray, the facilities provided are adequate. It was nice to have decent WiFi, and Netflix (although the TV remote isn't easy to use - it keeps hanging up and you have to press the 'OK' button several times in order to get it to do anything). I would say what we paid was very fair and overall I am very satisfied with our experience.

  • "The position of the key safe was unclear, it should read 'There is a bank of key safes on the left from the car park, Star Fish safe is the one on the second row'."

The top shelf in the kitchen cupboard was unreachable and I (an 84 year old) had to stand on a chair to reach a basin. A lack of kitchen equipment e.g. small saucepans, milk jugs, casserole type dishes. Apart from this the apartment was comfortable, spotlessly clean and car parking a bonus. It was a little further from Weymouth centre than we thought but nevertheless a most enjoyable holiday.

Very convenient 10-15 minute stroll to the main area of Weymouth. This was important to us as Weymouth has traffic problems.

  • "The beds were comfortable with good quality linens."

The furniture was a good standard and overall very pleasant accommodation. Parking was simple and plenty of room and location was easy walking to beach or the town. Maybe a fridge only would have been preferable to a fridge/freezer but I would choose to stay here again.

  • "We enjoyed the living space, and the bedrooms were comfortable."

The fridge is not adequate for self catering or indeed 4 people. I noticed someone else had commented on this and you had replied you were making changes. I would recommend a decent sized fridge which would have saved us throwing away food. Also the oven was not adequate and took nearly two hours to reheat a lasagne at 220 degrees. We liked being able to walk to the beach and the apartment is well situated for that.

  • "The light on the hallway outside the flat was flickering terribly."

The kitchen could have done with a higher clean as there were cobwebs along the shelving and top of boiler.

Flat could do with a good clean crockery clearly not been checked or cleaned after last people, sofa needs updating in front room the seat has gone. Close to the beach and amenities. Parking also should have mentioned you go under a car port we had a box on roof and wouldn’t go under so we had to take it off in the street!!

Apartment was exactly as described and really homely and comfortable. I was a little disappointed with how dusty things were but it was clean. Parking was good as the road gets very busy. The town centre was easy to find down a little ally way which took us 10 mins with 2 little ones in tow. WiFi a little slow at times but also ran out of data after 4 days. There was an option to top up but quite expensive. Which ment on a cosy evening you couldn't watch the sky provided and the freeview had very limited channels. There are lots of dvds provided but no dvd player! This apartment all in all didn't disappoint so much so we have booked again for next year.

One set of wooden slated blinds in the bay window were broken so they wouldn’t open. Regards accuracy of listing , there is little information of the flats actual location until you pay the bill you can only get the location of the owners office. The TV wasn’t tuned in to get all free view channels through the Sky box. Contacted owners who were going to send an engineer round but never arrived. Tuned TV in myself but not through the Sky box.
