“We were very pleased with the cottage itself, but disappointed with surrounding area as it was on the edge of a housing estate.”

However, the location for shops, beach and getting around was ideal.

However, the location for shops, beach and getting around was ideal. The loo seat and stair gate weren't fixed properly and I wasn't able to get through to customer services when I tried to call on the first evening to mention it. Apart from those issues, the cottage was perfect for our needs and we would visit again.

This property is part of the Dream Cottages collection.
Over 350 carefully selected and perfectly located properties, helping you create your perfect holiday.

The property

Coachman’s House is a real hidden gem, ideal for couples or a small family holidaying together, situated around half a mile from the glorious sandy beach in Weymouth. Once was a toll collection point and steeped in history, it still retains lots of original features with the modern comforts of everyday living. With a private walled garden which catches the sun, a modern kitchen, roomy dining room, and cosy lounge facing the garden, this cottage will steal your heart.

Perfect for dog lovers as you can bring up to three dogs along.

Just a short walk away is the RSPB Radipole Lake Nature Reseve, ideal for exercising your pet’s morning and night, so you are not going too far away from the property yet still getting a glimpse of nature of the reserve. The sea front and town are only a ten-minute brisk walk away, so it is ideally placed for enjoying the sandy beach, promenade together with cafes, restaurants and bars.

If you would like to venture further afield, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are just a 20-minute car journey.

A visit to Monkey World Ape Rescue centre and The Tank museum also just a manageable drive away. Dig deeper into the countryside of Dorset and there you will find Dorchester, the county town which is home to the iron-age Maiden castle – with its spectacular views to all sides.

Sheep roam freely there, so please remember to keep your dogs on a lead. After a busy day sightseeing come home to relax at The Coachman's House.
