    “Superb accommodation.”

For the size of the property it had everything that we needed. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and we were made to feel completely at home throughout our stay. The cottage is located in fantastic surroundings and has been extremely well furnished and equipped. The pond is extremely picturesque (keep a camera handy as the kingfisher might show it's face) An excellent base for exploring the New Forest. The cottage is located in fantastic surroundings and has been extremely well furnished and equipped. The pond is extremely picturesque (keep a camera handy as the kingfisher might show it's face) An excellent base for exploring the New Forest. There are excellent walks around the farm and a host of wildlife to see. We really couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing holiday. Everything about our stay, even including the COVID precautions, was perfect and completely exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back. Vaughan and Sue.

The property

West Park Farm, in the very pretty, historic village of Rockbourne is part of a working beef and arable farm.

You are welcome to explore here - there is a large pond, bluebell wood and occasionally you may be able to help the owner with day to day farm tasks.

There is also a hard tennis court which guests can enjoy, but please bring your own racquets.

What was once a small granary has been converted into an attractive, detached studio.

Small but perfectly formed, much thought has been given to providing everything you'll need without cluttering the compact space.

The high raftered ceiling makes the living area feel spacious and the neat kitchen area has a two-ring halogen hob and a multi-function microwave, adequate for preparing simple meals.

With pleasant views overlooking neighbouring fields and a natural pond, The Little Granary is an ideal retreat.

About the location

FORDINGBRIDGE

Salisbury 11 miles; Bournemouth 18 miles.

Fordingbridge is a traditional Hampshire town on the banks of the River Avon, and offers a good mix of shops, pubs and restaurants, a small museum of local history and a display of original work by the artist Augustus John, who lived here for many years. The medieval Great Bridge, with seven graceful arches, is a major feature of the town. The immediate area is a wonderful place for visitors, with its beautiful scenery, nature havens, cycleways and welcoming people. Fordingbridge is conveniently situated for the magnificent cathedral city of Salisbury to the north, and the super seaside resort of Bournemouth to the south. The stunning New Forest National Park is only 1.5 miles from the town, where you can explore thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodland frequented by wild ponies, and dotted with quaint villages and country pubs. Within a short drive is the magnificent Elizabethan manor house at Breamore, as well as the New Forest Water Park, and a trip to Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum is not to be missed. This is a great location for exploring this picturesque and interesting area.
