  • "We had a great stay at Bayview Loft."

It was very clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space for a family of 3 or 4. The kitchen is very well equipped. Wonderful view from the main bedroom. We also liked the location. It's in a quiet area but it's an easy walk to the harbour and the main beach, as well as Sandsfoot castle and the beaches there, which were great for rock pooling! There is a great fish and chip shop and a Co-op grocery store a short walk away. Overall we had a fantastic time in Weymouth and are very happy to recommend Bayview Loft.

  • "We loved staying here!"

It was our first holiday as a couple but our 6th time coming to Weymouth. The apartment and location was perfect. On the 3rd day the steps up to the apartment felt like nothing. It took us 25 minutes to walk from the apartment and set up on the beach outside M&S! The only thing I felt was missing was somewhere for me to sit and get ready. I had to sit on the floor which is fine but not ideal. It’s bright and airy which was a relief. We would definitely re book

  • "Great property we enjoyed our stay beds superb, the velux roof windows were very hard to open and close may require some oil on the mechanism and the toilet seat came loose, nice to have decent size TV when you want to relax at the end of the day."

Shame we had to leave two days early as my 94 year-old mum was in hospital so we decided to cut short our holiday .

Thank you for such a positive review - it is heart warming to see that our newly refurbished holiday flat was enjoyed by you, as much as we enjoy it ourselves. We will endeavour to give a little TLC to the Velux windows and resolve the WC Seat. Sorry to hear that your holiday was cut short by a family illness. As a goodwill gesture, we would be happy to offer you a short stay (of up to 4 consecutive nights) "out of peak season" before next years holiday season begins in April 2024, as our guests, with no charge to you for the accommodation. All we would ask is that you pay the cleaning & linen fees please. We have requested that Dream Cottages contact you, to make the necessary arrangements. Hopefully you will hear from them soon - but if you don't, please contact them and point to this response on their website. Property Owner

  • "This was a nice property in a good location to access Weymouth centre."

Although with young children we ended up driving and spending a fortune on parking by mid-week as it's a good 20min walk to town then another 10-15min walk on to the main beach area (at young child walking pace), which both ways with children adds up to a lot of whinging! One thing to bear in mind, particularly if you have children, is the lack of shower facility. There is a shower attachment on the bath but there is no shower curtain due to the space. Cleaning off 4 people after being in the sea is no easy task and it was difficult to not completely soak the bathroom! Also worth noting that it's on the 3rd floor, which initially doesn't sound bad, we're not an unfit family. But by the final day everyone was complaining about the 45 steps up to the front door! It's listed as a luxury property but there are little details missing, such as there's no toilet roll holder. A little thing admittedly but there were a few things where we thought it was probably luxury when first rented but there are parts that look a little tired now (for example, the loose floorboard which we slid and nearly fell over on more than once in the kitchen). That said, there's a lovely view of the sea from the main bedroom, and it is a lovely property.

Thank you for your very fair feedback. Your stay was during Aug 2022. We completely refurbished the flat in the winter of 22/23 which included fitting a new bathroom, full internal redecoration and new furniture and fixtures throughout. We removed the bath entirely and now have a large walk in shower - as you quite rightly stated - this is so much better after visits to the beach. We've changed the name of the flat from Bayview Apartment to Bayview Loft to try and make it even more clear that the accommodation is on the top floor and there are indeed only stairs to get you up there. We like to think that the magnificent view over the rooftops out to Weymouth Bay and out over Newtons Cove, make the climb up well worth it, and we are confident that all of the improvements we have worked so hard on, have once again brought the standard of the accommodation up to "luxury". • "Wasn't too pleased with the state of the seal behind the bath taps."

And the panel on the end of the bath they need replacing, quite disgusting. Then there was the sky light window in the kitchen. it was obvious this hadn't been cleaned in a long time, even the bird poo had gone green mouldy. We could not use the kettle on the first day due to it being scaled up, there was bits of stuff coming out of it. We went out and bought a descaling solution the next day and the problem was solved. Don't know why this couldn't have been done before we arrived. Then there was the blind in the main bedroom, why is the blind too small for the window, we were woken at the crack of dawn by the sun shining on us at 5am. We don't wish any malice, this is just a truthful account of how we found things. I have photo's if you'd like to see them. Yours sincerely, Edd.

Thank you for your feedback, which we take on board. We are planning on completely re-doing the bathroom in the coming winter, but will get the bath re-sealed in the meantime. The skylight is in the roof of a 3-storey building and is difficult to clean on the outside. Skylights are generally self-cleaning, but of course that relies on the weather. We hadn't previously considered the blind being an issue, as we like being gently awoken by the morning sun, but we now appreciate that we are not all alike, so will endeavour to change this in the near future, to accommodate others preferences. We note you awarded us top marks for cleanliness and facilities (thank you), and we hope that other than the issues raised, that you had a nice holiday. Property Owner
