  • "The house was ready when we arrived and access was easy."

The house was clean and well presented. We were pleased to find a bigger than expected garden. There was a small welcome pack of hotel style tea bags, coffees, sugar, biscuits and milk, enough for around 4 cups. There were 5 toilet rolls provided, two dishwasher tablets and just one tea towel. No foil, bin bags or washing machine laundry cleaning products. The bedrooms were comfortable and had plenty of storage, the bathrooms were also good, nice shower pressure and having the bath was ideal for our two young children to wash in after the beach. The lounge diner is large and comfy, the conservatory was too hot to sit in during the day but we were able to get washing dry in there within hours! The drive is large so we had plenty of access space. Location is great, only a few minutes walk to the harbour. Would highly recommend.

  • "The reason I have given 4 score for facilities is only 1 tea towel left for us to last for 2 weeks, 2 tin openers but neither worked well and lastly nice comfortable furniture in garden but weather very sunny at times and we could have used a sun umbrella One other thing to mention is that Rodwell Road itself is very busy and therefore quite noisy at certain times."

  • "The house was very comfortable and clean and it was good to have the conservatory as well as a lounge for relaxing."

The theming was interesting, if we’d had the grandchildren with us I think they’d have loved finding all the ways the theme was to be found. The garden was a lovely sun trap and we enjoyed sitting out there. My only negative is that the listing described a shower over the bath but didn’t mention it was hand held. Also there was no shower screen, which was needed. The location was perfect, a short walk to the town, the harbour, the beach and Nothe gardens.

  • "A lovely spacious property in a great location."

Within the house the facilities were first rate and the garden was an added bonus for families with children. Having parking is a real asset. Local attractions are easily accessible from this property, with many being on the doorstep or a short drive away. It’s a 5 minute walk to the harbour area and Brewers Quay. 15 minutes walk to the beach and town centre. There is a lovely walk to Nothe Gardens and Nothe Fort. The Nothe Cafe, Barrack Road - provides delightful food and service. You can walk or drive to Sandsfoot Gardens, which has beautiful views of the bay and again a lovely cafe. We also visited Portland Bill, The Tropical Gardens and the Water Gardens by car.

  • "Very good house to spend a holiday."

So close to lovely amenities of town. Comfortable facilities with everything we required other than a shortage of knives and forks. A tray and another chopping board would be useful. Great quality of utilities.

We were very hot in bed as memory foam mattresses . The weather was changeable but the conservatory came in useful on rainy days. We found some very nice restaurants in the area. We would book again

  • "The property is in a fantastic location for accessing Weymouth by foot and further out activities by car or local public transport."

The parking is worth its weight in gold too. We did feel the property could benefit from a deeper clean in some areas, for example the drain in the shower in the en suite was clogged with hair and a past guests hair band which was quite unpleasant to clean out on the first day! And underneath and behind the sofa was very dusty and had loads of dropped food from previous guests - a bit unhygienic! This is our only negative comment - the beds were supper comfy, the kitchen had all the facilities you could need and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The bus to Portland was easy just at the top of the road.

Our only gripes were the WiFi which was sporadic and the TV signal affected by rain.

  • "Lovely house, good location."

Great to have parking. Downside bad reception for the TVs, if raining no reception at all. Fridge is extremely noisy. Would have booked for next year but when we looked the price had gone up over £250.

  • "The cottage was beautiful, very clean and tidy with a lovely back garden to sit out in and for the children to play."

It’s situated in a great location and is only a short walk into the harbour/high street/beach. The only thing that let it down was the internet and WiFi was very poor, it kept cutting out and when it was connected was fairly slow.

  • "2nd stay at this lovely property."

Excellent location. Already booked again for next year. Love the garden furniture, so comfy and used every day as the weather was perfect. Amazingly comfy beds too. Only a short flat stroll into the town or to beautiful Northe Park. Bonus is the drive as parking is a premium here. Can't fault this property at all.

It's very comfortable and the large garden and conservatory are a real bonus. We had a small problem with the en-suite shower during our stay and the the response from Dream Cottages was excellent, despite the problem not being reported until after 5pm it was fixed the next day.

Would have appreciated a cafetiere and scissors. Although it was a smart tv limited channels available. Fortunately we had taken the fire stick. Probably wouldn't stay again due to the noise of the ensuite toilet. Too noisy to use when someone is in bed.

  • "Really well appointed house, beautifully decorated."

Very close to the town, just a 10 minute walk and your there. Beds are wonderfully comfortable. A tumble drier would be the only addition needed but it was made clear in info that there wasn't one. TV does need looking at as we found that when it rained, you lost reception on many channels. Lovely welcome pack on arrival of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits. Would definately book this property again.

  • "The house was extremely well appointed."

More details of the appliances would have been useful (no information on the microwave or washing machine - but a whole book on the gas-fire which had been taken out of service anyway!!). We spotted a problem with the boiler but that was promptly and efficiently dealt with. It would have been useful to have had a book of previous occupants' comments. These usually give recommendations on good places to visit and restaurants etc. The location was explained on the website but the busyness off the road outside was not made clear.

About the location

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
