It is always clean and well kept. The only thing was that one off the mattresses in the twin room has seen better days, some springs popping through. We are definitely booking again. Would not stay anywhere else in Weymouth. We had a brilliant holiday

  • "The property was not clean the floors were very dirty the carpets were covered with dogs hair."

The kitchen was falling apart and some of the pans you would not want to use.

We are disappointed to see that you gave Footprint such a low score. We try to check the property between guests if we can to see if there are any obvious issues that we can attend to. I did go to Footprint to try and check in good time before the arrival time of 4pm but you were already there. It is a shame you didnt mention the issues to me then or even contacted the agency afterwards as they could have arranged for a cleaner to attend again to clean the floors hoover the dog hair and perhaps tighten any loose kitchen doors and clean any pans. I do carry spares and could have changed any when I was there. Also the agency have the authority to purchase something specific if needs be. We will certainly check the kitchen on our next visit as we do not quite understand what you mean when you say it is falling apart. We hope your next holiday wherever it may be will be an enjoyable one. Property Owner

  • "I have used Dream Cottages for holidays since 2013, a number of times in the Brewers Quay area of Weymouth."

Once again they amazed me with the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation. The property, located in a gated Muse, is well appointed and has everything you need for a great self-catering holiday, or just to use it as a base whilst exploring the area. Covered parking opposite the property is an added bonus too. Pubs and restaurants are 5 minutes away in Hope Square and even more a minute or two further, to the harbour, or 10 -15 minutes to Weymouth town centre and the beautiful beach, (a smallish section by the Pavilion and amusements is dog friendly all year round). The property's master bedroom on its third level, has a very comfortable king-size double bed. There is plenty of storage space in the bedrooms and the master has the added bonus of an on-suite bathroom, albeit getting into the corner shower could be a bit of a tight squeeze for some! That said there is a further bathroom opposite bedroom 2 with a bath with hand shower over, and a cloakroom toilet downstairs. The kitchen as with the lounge and rest of the property is excellent. One slightly negative point is that in the description of the property, whilst it mentions a small patio to the front, it fails to mention there is no garden. As a dog owner, this could be a problem if you don't want to let your dog roam around the courtyard area. However 5 minutes and less than half a mile away along Newton's Road, overlooking Newton's Cove and Portland, is a lovely, safe, cliff-top open space to exercise your four legged companion. Alternatively, a lovely stroll can be had through Nothe Gardens, again a few minutes away. Whilst during my stay there was construction work taking place opposite Shire Horse Mews and also nearby, long term renovation work to the listed buildings of the old Devenish Brewery, neither caused an issue during my stay. Would I stay at this property again? Definitely yes, and use Dream Cottages for my next booking? Most definitely.

  • "Very enjoyable break in Weymouth staying at Footprint and to be clear from the start, we were happy enough with the property, but there are a few things for anyone proposing to book, as well as the Letting Agents (Dream Cottages) to bear in mind, we think."

Firstly, the booking in time of 4.00 pm is very late in the day in our opinion, we contacted Dream Cottages to ask if it could be any earlier to be told No, as they couldn't say when the Cleaners would be finished and they needed the parking space...fair enough, but I then asked if we could be updated and advised via text when it would be available, only to be told that the Cleaner's don't contact anyone booking...again fair enough, so I asked if they would be able to contact Dream Cottages and then they, in turn, could contact us, but this was apparently not an option. Note to Dream Cottages, how about a bit more communication with those booking to update booking in times, seeing as booking in time is so late in the day? To add insult to injury, other families who were staying at adjacent properties managed by Dream Cottages simply turned up early and were allowed into their cottages as the Cleaner was finished by much earlier in the afternoon it transpired! Secondly, there was a lovely little Welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, jam and chocolate, lovely touch...but , there are absolutely no cleaning products in any of the Bathrooms and WC in the property at all. Never experienced a lack of such simple hygiene requirements in any other property we have booked. Come on Dream Cottages, sort that out immediately! Then there is the parking, it is brilliant to have parking attached to a property which is so close to Weymouth harbour, but be advised, it is a very, very tight space indeed. The people parked next to us had a large 4x4 and did struggle at times, fortunately our car is only medium sized, however, it was still a delicate bit of parking along with a very tight squeeze to get out of the car door against a wall, and I am certainly not oversize, shall I say. The property itself is very good, excellent smart tv, a good sized kitchen with everything you would need on holiday, but there is a complete absence of information concerning local attractions so do your own research, plus the second Bedroom would certainly not be suitable for 2 adults, and finally, the shower in the En-Suite is one of smallest I've ever experienced, although on the plus side, the pressure was brilliant. This is probably the lengthiest review I've ever done for a holiday rental, but, we felt that the enigmas of Footprint just had to be pointed out. We loved Weymouth and Dorset to bits by the way, it was our first visit and certainly won't be our last, but we'll probably find another property to stay at next time. One final ps, The Red Lion pub is a 10/10 for food and beer in our opinion

We have stayed in this area previously in a different cottage, “ Footprint “ was perfect re location etc and facilities, Dream Cottages ( part of Sykes ) are very helpful and have a wonderful team, it’s also great to have there office less than a 5 minute walk away, to summarise would I use Sykes again ? Yes I would as we had a great time. We would definitely stay at either “Footprint “ again or the next door property “ Reaver “ depending on which had availability for the dates we require in 2023.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
