  • "Lovely cottage."

Has everything you need.I love it around the quay area.was great having the car park space instead of paying for parking and walking up and down to car park.dishwasher was playing up when we got there but luckily someone else had reported it and a new dishwasher was installed while we were there.great service.

  • "The property was lovely and clean and the welcome pack was very pleasant to receive."

We would’ve liked two sets of keys rather than just the one as we had to put it back in the key safe Every time we went out separately.. The Twin bedroom was very noisy when they turned the extractor fans on for the restaurant just behind the property, and this should be stated in the details. We had a very hot week but couldn’t leave the windows open at night. Due to the noise of the bottle bins being emptied from the local restaurants., it would’ve been nice to have had a fan. No matter how I tried I couldn’t stop the floor from being covered with water every time I showered using the shower over the bath, I’m not sure what can be done about this, but I have to mop the floor every time I had a shower. Although these are concerns I had I would definitely book here again on our next visit to Weymouth. The location for us was perfect and to have a parking space was an added bonus.

  • "Have stayed in in cottage for many years and always loved it, this year wasn’t quite so good, a couple of issues, the slip mat for the shower in the top bedroom had a lot of mould on it, the tap in the sink also needs looking at as the water splashes everywhere, we had to scrub the white mugs in the kitchen before we could use them as they were badly tea stained, just minor issues with this lovely cottage the rest of it was spotless and thank you for the lovely welcome box."

What spoils it now is the unbelievable amount of noisy traffic that now uses this normally quiet road, big vans, motor bikes, and so many cars, it now feels like living on a main road, especially when it is so hot you have to have all the windows open. The owners of the cottage cannot help this but we cannot understand why this year it has been so bad and where so much traffic is going.

  • "We have stayed in many Dream Cottages/Sykes Weymouth properties over many years."

We wouldn't re-book Lobster Cottage. It is a lovely location and the on-site parking is much appreciated but the property isn't for us. The space downstairs is a bit restricted for a group of adults and we tended to use our bedroom spaces to relax ( two excellent sized double rooms and one adequate twin bed room). The first floor communal bathroom is very small and the overhead shower in the bath is not easy to use without wetting the floor through. A tumble drier would be useful in this property as there is very little space for drying laundry/towels, especially when the weather is poor. We had to resort to using the central heating to dry off essential washing. The kitchen would seat six comfortably if some thought was given to perhaps removing the kitchen door as this blocks access. Kitchen is adequately equipped but information on operating the oven is missing from both the folder and the cupboard space where it specifies we would find this info. The back yard area could be wonderful but it needs some attention. The shed area is useful for storing beach gear.

The only little thing was that the shower head in the main bathroom kept sliding down, so I had to put to clothes pegs under it to keep it in place. The location was perfect and our stay was very relaxing and comfortable.

Thankyou for your wonderful review and for informing us about the slight issue with the shower which we will get attended to. Looking forward to welcoming you again to Lobster cottage. Property Owner

Staying right in the harbour and a short walk into town was perfect and with so many restaurants, pubs, shops and other facilities on the doorstep, we were able to really enjoy what Weymouth had to office. The property itself was clean and homely and arriving to a nice welcome hamper and guide to the property and surrounding area was perfect. The kitchen and cosy space in the garden allowed us to have some lovely breakfasts indoors and outdoors to build us up for our days out. Then returning in the afternoon or evening, we were able to relax and talk through our days in the living room or relaxing on the beds. It was really nice thank you.

  • "The location is perfect."

The accommodation very good and all was ok until the last day. At 7:25am there was someone at the door telling us that we had to move our car from the allocated parking space to somewhere outside the area, that the local roads were closed and I would be towed away unless I complied immediately. They had delivered notification in a sealed envelope addressed to the owner (not me) and were very persistent. Fortunately my daughter and young family had left the night before otherwise packing would have been a nightmare. Apparently there were road closure signs up but since I had not driven that week I didn't notice them. It spoiled the holiday. I was the only party to suffer! The agent got full commission despite not explaining that my rented, until 10am, parking spot (and street) had been given over to a charity event on the last day when I expected to pack the car and I am not even sure that the owner was informed. So beware of taking accomodation in this area and check for events if you want to avoid this happening to you. I don't believe that I was in the wrong here but I came home more stressed than when I left.

Very comfortable for my family to stay everything you need at home is there . So clean and welcoming very spacious rooms.would definatly recommend this home to anyone . Only suggestion would be to provide a stairgate if you have small.toddlers as the first two steps are tiny as they turn for you to access stairs. Could not find a fault here. • "I have booked with Dream Cottages many times in the past and so far have always been really pleased and written a positive review."

This time however it has to be a disappointed one. The location of the property is spot on, especially with parking adjacent to it. Proximity to all facilities in the area are easily accessible and most convenient. The property itself could do with some TLC. The cleanliness was not up to Dream Cottages usual standard, with dusty window ledges and cobwebs on the windows, it looked ‘surface clean’’ but hadnt had the best attention. The decor is looking tired and tatty, and really could do with smartening up. There are marks on the walls and paper coming away from the walls too. The bed frames are wider than the mattress making it easy to knock your legs or your toes on the frame as you walk round them. They are very comfortable to sleep on though. The rooms would also benefit from curtains instead of blinds light wise. The shower in the en suite bedroom is tiny and the shower in the family bathroom is inadequate as the curtain pulls only half way along the bath, leading to over spills and wet floors. The living room is comfortable, although six adults would find difficulty sitting comfortably. We were four adults with a toddler and was ok. Sorry to be so negative, it didn’t spoil our holiday, just disappointed this wasn’t a property up to your usual high standard.

For our family of 6 adults the rooms were spacious, and the lounge and kitchen areas were great with all the facilities for a home from home stay. As other customers have mentioned in their reviews the back yard could use a little TLC and a lick of paint but at the end of the day having a private seating area at the property is also premium! All in all a fab cottage in a perfect location. We'll be booking again next year.

Front and back door not very secure. Courtyard filthy, overgrown, maggots in drain and rotting fish in shed and decaying marine life. We also witnessed a rat in the courtyard. After complaining the lock on the back door and front door was changed but it would not take much to break in as doors so old. We would like to thank Karen the cleaner for doing her best to clean the courtyard and get rid of all the rotting fish and maggots. The cottage has got a lot of potential and is in a great spot and a bonus to have off road parking but it’s unacceptable that it has been allowed to get to this state. About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
