  • "Nice, well equipped cottage - surroundings were disappointing - locality quite run down and view of Asda wasn't too impressive!"

Parking a problem which spoilt things for us a bit. No welcome /information book which was very unusual and would have been helpful.

  • "Overall the property was ok Parking is a known problem but we were lucky each day."

Couple of things for improvement; 1. There are no scissors in the cutlery drawer. This was a frustrating omission 2. The cruet set is useless. Neither the salt or pepper worked no matter what adjustment made. 3. Information about garbage needs to be clearer about what rubbish goes where etc. 4. There were no spare rubbish bags/ sacks 5. The dimmer switch in the back/main bedroom needs looking at. The push button kept ‘flicking off’ when pressed 5. The shower head does not fit properly into its upright stay and keeps falling out which makes us think it’s not the original part but a replacement

  • "What a lovely cottage, we really enjoyed our stay."

Parking was a problem when we first arrived but when we went back to check in we got a spot right outside and didn’t need the car all week so all good. Love how close it was to Asda and just a short walk to centre. Table was set up lovely for our arrival and was very clean and tidy. Small but perfectly formed kitchen, loved having a dishwasher and the washer came in handy. Very comfortable beds and large bedrooms. Only downside was the patio area and door needs a clean and the plants are well beyond watering but a nice space and somewhere to hang clothes/towels to dry. TV took a while to figure out but got there in the end. All in all highly recommended cottage

  • "The Mint Cottage is a small, perfectly located house."

Since we travelled without a car, we enjoyed that everything (beach, harbour, city center, local and regional busses and supermarket) were in short walking distance. Communication was very good. We had just one small issue and it was fixed the next day.

  • "I cannot fault the cottage itself."

It was very clean, & comfortable. Location very handy to Asda! The listing did not highlight the atrocious difficulties in parking, and unsuitability for elderly people. I think these two issues should be highlighted more prominently in the ad. Had the booking been for myself there wouldn't have been such harsh scoring,

Parking is a nightmare. Would not stay in this property again.

  • "The advert for this property stated that it was a few paces away from the harbour and beach."

This was completely inaccurate and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or the elderly. There was also a steep staircase in the property and the bathroom was downstairs.

  • "Great holiday."

The cottage was clean and had everything you might need. Love all the books, games and dvds in case of bad weather. We were lucky with the weather though! The toilet/shower door doesn't have a lock, it just slides shut. It didn't matter as we are a family, but if you were staying with friends you might not want people walking in and out while you are on the toilet or showering... Very handy for Asda, literally a minute away for food, toiletries, clothes, toys... Thanks Sykes.

  • "The lack of a shaver/toothbrush plugin socket in the bathroom was a problem, otherwise the facilities were excellent."

Generally the visitor information was a bit sparse and some user guides for the appliances etc could have been a bit better, especially the TV.

Prosecco, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch.

  • "Need to let people now the bathroom is downstairs and that seating area to sit ..."

Need to let people now the bathroom is downstairs and that seating area to sit outside is actually of the main bedroom no ideal really if your not sharing with your family as you can't use if the person is in bed the cottage downstairs also smelt of damp and made our clothes smell like that when left in the living room or on the back of the chairs

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are sorry you felt the cottage smelt of damp, the owner has investigated this and it appears that the smell is not damp but milk which had leaked down the drain at the back of the fridge therefore causing an unpleasant smell. This has now been rectified and it is unfortunate you didn’t report it during your stay as we would have been happy to visit the property to look into this for you. We look forward to welcoming you back to Dream Cottages again in the future. Property Owner

I left some socks and underwear in the accommodation and would really appreciate it if they were sent to me. I will of course pay any postage.

  • "We had a lovely holiday."

The location was great for the town and the beach, and the accommodation was beautifully presented. The only drawback was the lack of parking space, but we did always manage to find a slot in the same street or the neighbouring one.
