“Was our first holiday with our guide dog puppy and the location for walking her was perfect.”

A field within 500 yards, the railway embankment, and the walk along the seafront through Nothe park were all within a short distance from the house. Neptune House was perfect for our stay with a dog, a lovely conservatory to sit in on a wet day and an enclosed rear garden for the dog to wander freely was a bonus. The house was well equipped - though I note there was not a hair dryer - a minor detail. We took our own safety gate to prevent the dog from moving around the house but I am sure if we had asked we may have borrowed one from Dream Cottages. The accommodation was very comfortable and within walking distance from shops, bars and restaurants this all made our holiday quite relaxing. Thank you Dream Cottages we will certainly recommend you.

The property

Situated in the ever-popular Maltings development just a stone’s throw from Weymouth’s historic harbour, is Neptune House, a wonderful holiday home sleeping up to 4 guests.

The property has received a complete refurbishment and now features contemporary styling and modern fittings throughout, and is a short stroll from quaint shops, tea rooms, bistros and restaurants.

Step inside and be welcomed into the stylish living room where you can settle down and catch up on your favourite TV shows, before heading into kitchen to rustle up a homely meal which can be enjoyed at the dining table as you plan your days ahead.

The conservatory is the perfect place to sit with your morning cup of tea or coffee whilst your four-legged friend stretched their legs in the enclosed patio garden, complete with table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining in the warmer months.

The first floor offers two light and airy boredoms; one double and one twin, both served by a family bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.

Weymouth town centre and glorious award-winning sandy beach is only a 10 minute walk away over the iconic drawbridge which is a fascinating sight for small and grown up children alike, as they can watch as it opens to allow tall ships, boats and yachts to pass from the inner to the outer marina.

For those who want to sunbathe nearer to home, the beautiful Newtons Cove is a few minutes’ walk away and offers a scenic stroll along the promenade and into the Nothe Gardens where you can sit and enjoy a picnic whilst the children explore the shallow rockpools dotted along the shoreline.

If you wish to explore further afield then why not take a trip on the ‘Coaster’ bus to Abbotsbury or Lyme Regis, both charming chocolate box villages where you can ramble the pretty shop lined streets looking for that unique souvenir to take back home with you, stopping off for a delicious Dorset ice cream on the way and admiring the stunning coastal views.

Whatever the time of year, enjoy a seaside escape the Neptune House with family or friends for a memorable staycation in the delightful county of Dorset.
