It was perfect in every way . The location was absolutely stunning with an ever changing canvas outside our windows ! The accommodation was clean ,tidy and nautical ! It had everything we needed in there. The beds were amazingly comfy too ! Highly recommended and I would love to stay again ! Thankyou .

I'll be booking this property again for our next holiday, very soon. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

  • "Thank you for another perfect stay in this beautiful and well-equipped cottage."

We were blessed with good weather and, when we could manage to tear ourselves away from the spectacular views of the harbour from the sitting room bay window, we enjoyed some wonderful long walks and meals out at local restaurants - and can't wait to come back again!

  • "Unfortunately the WiFi wasn’t working, the first floor shower was dirty and the first floor bed was extremely uncomfortable- it sags severely in the middle making it very hard to sleep in/on."

Was a shame there was no iron or board at the property. We loved being so central and being able to watch the boats and people go by.

We are sorry that you experienced a problem with the WiFi during your short stay. This has been investigated by the broadband provider and an intermittent line fault has now been repaired. The double beds are a zip-and-link type with a slight dip where the two mattresses join. Mattress protectors and toppers are provided for additional comfort and many guests have commented on how comfortable these beds are. Our cleaner works to a high standard and the house is checked by a supervisor before guests arrive, but we will raise your comments about the cleanliness of the shower with her. The iron and ironing board are kept in the laundry room as described in the guest Welcome Pack. Please note, Dream Cottages are available to respond at the time to any concerns that guests have whilst staying here. Property Owner

  • "Safe Harbour was so lovely and warm when we arrived after storm Arwen."

There are no complaints at all. It was home from home. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected dental problem we had to leave a day early to attend an emergency dental appointment and from that we did not make an entry in the visitors book.

Thank you and we will definitely be coming back. The weather, fortunately, was mild for this time of the year, but even if there had been rain, there was always something to do or watch. It was perfect for us.

  • "Only let down slightly by one shower not working and not being repaired during the week."

We also asked for the double beds to be split prior to our arrival, which was not carried out until after we arrived and telephoned.

We are very sorry the shower was not working during your stay. Unfortunately it broke down just prior to your arrival and whilst we arranged for it to be replaced as soon as possible, there was a delay in obtaining the parts. The shower was repaired on 21st October. Dream Cottages Property Owner

  • "We were absolutely delighted with the standard of Safe Harbour and couldn’t have asked for a better holiday rental - everything had been thought of to make our stay comfortable."

Our only gripe is with the parking- if we went out during the day we had to queue to get a parking space in the Nothe car park. I was concerned about this before we went and on checking with your office was assured that in all of ten years they’d never known it to be full !!! Well - that was definitely not the case. Also - an admin error was the original key code we were given (and the one I had noted) was not the same as the one given out in later blurb. Frustratingly we had to go to Dream Cottages offices to sort it out before we were able to enter cottage.

  • "Lovely house in a brilliant location , it was really lovely to be able to look out at all the activity in and around the harbour ."

The only thing that my family would have preferred , would have been to have a television in the bedrooms rather than the dining room. We will definitely try to book Safe Harbour again in the future .

  • "I spend a week at Safe Harbour with my Husband & 2 of our friends."

The location was amazing, right along the quayside of the harbour & very convenient for eating out, shopping, boat trips, the beach & all within easy walking distance. There are also many wonderful places to visit by easy car journeys. It was lovely to sit in the downstairs window-seat & watch all the people, boats as well as the bridge bring raised & lowered. The property was beautifully appointed, furnished tastefully & there was everything you could possibly need for a fantastic holiday let. I can’t recommend it enough & we will definitely be returning.

  • "Cleanliness not as good as previously experienced cob webs in evidence in some places."

Contact experience was not as good as when we have previously spoken directly to Dream Cottage personnel, telephone experience with Sykes was disappointing.

Thank you for your comments regarding the cobwebs. We have discussed the issue with the Dream Cottages team and have taken steps to ensure that this aspect of cleaning is always addressed. We were pleased to note from the visitor book that you have again had an enjoyable holiday at Safe Harbour. Property Owner

The house was everything we could have wished for. We were on holiday with our daughter and son-in-law and their five month old baby so it was lovely to have a "home from home" . The location was great. We stayed last year at The Ferryman so we knew we wanted to be in the old harbour area again. This was our third stay in one of your properties and each time the accommodation and location have been faultless. Thank you for your excellent service. Stayed April 2018

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
