  • "A beautiful apartment in an even more stunning location."

The stay was very relaxing and we had everything we needed and more.

  • "Fantastic apartment, well decorated with everything you need, excellent location."

Only downside for us was the cleanliness of the whole place, dusty everywhere, cooker hob and extractor smeary, bathroom unclean. Bed linen was clean. Duvets and pillows need renewing. Guests shouldn't be expected to clean the apartment when they leave. I've never heard of this before in any place we've stayed in. The price of the apartment surely includes cleaning?

  • "Thankyou for a wonderful stay in this beautiful Penthouse Apartment."

It was so spacious and beautifully furnished. The bed was so comfortable too! It was so lovely to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the views of Weymouth Quay. The property is so well situated, very close to the town with lots of pubs, shops and restaurants but very quiet too so a perfect stay. Lovely to be able to park the car in the underground garage. Will definitely be returning, a very relaxing break in a perfect apartment!

  • "We do love the apartment, it is in a superb location and the underground secure parking is excellent."

In the property listing it look as though there is a large modern TV, in reality it is an old 42" TV with a very large frame, it is not Smart and it is not HD and this means the picture quality is extremely poor and choice of programmes very limited. I feel this should have been indicated in the listing. Even the lady I spoke to at Sykes on 31/10 said she'd assumed it was a large Smart TV from the pictures on the listing. Although the property is fantastic, the lack of decent TV would have been a deal breaker for us if we had known. At the end of a day out, we expect to be able to relax in the evening with good entertainment - a home from home. We holiday regularly now we are retired and have not had this issue in any other holiday home. There was a problem with the fridge door and the washing machine cover. We reported these on the Sunday and were told a man would come out to repair on the Monday. This never happened. We reported the toilet flush broken on the Thursday. A man from Dream Cottages came out, took a photo of the broken part and said he would send the photo to the plumber who would replace it either that evening or the next day. The plumber did not call until Thursday at 4pm, he said he had only come to look at it and said he had not been sent a photo of the part that was needed. He said he would call the next day to replace it - he never did. I cannot recommend the service we received from Dream Cottages for these reasons.

  • "Upon arrival the key fob would not work to open the entrance to the garage."

This I see is important and should be checked every changeover , Thankfully there was someone in the garage and they could let us in. This problem was solved the next day with a new fob. The apartment is in a really lovely and central location however it seems a bit “unloved” there are quite a few faults that we felt were not really acceptable. Caters for 4 people however there is not 4 of the same of each item in the kitchen to use. The toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken which surely should have been picked up by the cleaner? We reported this to Dreams office and was assured this would be fixed on changeover. There is a blind missing in the twin bedroom. I was a bit confused why there was 2 dishwasher tablets left out? There’s no dishwasher in the property unless it’s stored somewhere else? Loose windowsills in both bedrooms and cracked floor tiles in kitchen and both bathrooms. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay and the weather turned out to be beautiful & sunny.

  • "Great apartment in good location."

Only downside - no dishwasher - or we couldn't find it. TV channels a bit limited. However, this did not stop us having a wonderful time and if we ever visit the area again - this apartment would be our first choice. Thank you Dream Cottages for making our holiday experience one to remember. Kind regards Mr Jackson

You are right in the heart of the harbour and my girls loved watching the bridge go up and down from their balcony. We only had 2 nights booked so definitely need to come back as would of loved to spend more time in the apartment. Weymouth is a lovely town with great restaurants.

  • "The apartment was wonderful."

Well equipped, and very clean. It was lovely to sit outside every morning with a cup of tea and watch the boats and people go by. The most relaxing, stress free holiday in years. And THAT is in the middle of a Pandemic! Only two down sides. Make sure you take an electric fan to keep you cool. You won't be able to sleep with the window open. Sound travels up, and it was very noisy the first night. But you can't hear a thing with the window closed. The floors of the upstairs flats are very squeaky. We took care to take shoes off and tried to walk lightly. Unfortunately, there were children in the next flat who woke very early..and liked to run A LOT. But all in all a wonderful holiday. Thank you Sykes.

  • "This apartment has a tired and dated feel and we are particularly annoyed that the blinds clearly shown on your website, on the windows in the bedroom that we slept in, had been removed."

There are quite a few bright lights fitted on the bridge which illuminate the apartment at night and this made it difficult to sleep. The fact that there were blinds shown on both the bedrooms was a major factor in choosing the apartment and the fact that they were not in fact there on the room we slept in was extremely annoying plus also misleading. Having paid £895, I would expect to get what was advertised and feel that we are due some compensation. It is also the first apartment we've ever rented that doesn't have a dishwasher. Sofa was not very comfortable and lack of separate armchair or footstools not great. Lighting in both bathrooms very dingy. Black grime on bathroom doors so cleaning not great and stains on mattress protectors. All doors onto the balconies had dropped and in fact one could not even be locked. Very poor! Lot of strips on the laminate flooring loose meaning noise to flats below plus annoying.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our feedback form, at the time of your booking we would've advised that you notified us of the issue whilst at the property and we may have been able to organise a resolve. We are now working with the owner and the property standards group to ensure this matter is resolved and that future customers don't suffer the same problem. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further. We are open 7 days a week, 9-7pm. Property Owner

  • "My grading on cleanliness is not in relation to the overall cleaning of the property but to the fact that when we arrived and opened the front door, we were met with a smell of stale dirty water."

We traced the smell to a floor mop and bucket left in the storage cupboard in the hall which had not been rinsed out after use. This smell lingered for about three days until the mop dried out. Maintenance work is needed on the bathroom door which will not close using the normal door catch. The only way to close it is to lock it from the inside, which could be a problem with any children at the property. In view of the price charged for this property, we feel that you could at least supply toilet paper that is of reasonable quality rather than the pathetic rubbish that we found in both bathrooms. We can only assume that you bought a job lot from "Poundstretchers" at about 5p per roll. We naturally paid a visit to a supermarket to buy an alternative. Every other holiday letting company that we have dealt with over the years has provided reasonable quality. This is a false economy on your part which will get you a bad reputation.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
