  • "The property was very clean and central."

We were a little disappointed at how basic the furnishings and equipment were. The bathroom was cramped with little space to put anything and the toilet felt like a kitchen cupboard and was too small for comfort. We appreciated the car parking permit but parking near the property was very difficult. We would not stay in this property again despite its central location.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed. We have passed your comments onto the owner for them to review. We hope you enjoyed exploring around Salisbury. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A comfortable and spacious property, with good amenities and solid & stable broadband/wifi (essential for a teenage daughter)."

Perfect location for bars, pubs, restaurants and local shops, and an ideal base for exploring the sights in and around Salisbury and beyond. We had no parking issues and space was always found when needed. No hesitation recommending this property and would happily return another time.

Thank you for the lovely feedback regarding Rojoy. It's lovely to hear your family had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the sites. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "The location was central and the property was spacious but the listing on Sykes Cottages said two double bedrooms, one being kingsize, and one twin, but we found two twins and a very small double."

There was mention once we got there in the paperwork that the large twin could have been a double on request prior to arrival, but we didn't know we had to request it, so were disappointed to find we weren't able to use it, as there was no bedding in the property to be able to zip it together and use it as a double - the only extra bedding were duvets, blankets and pillows without sheets or pillow cases. No double bottom sheets. The toilet downstairs was unusable for all but one of our four party due to it being so small and no leg room between the toilet and wash basin - as really it was an understairs closet. The air vent in there was extremely loud. Although the owner did quickly respond to this by informing me how to switch it off if required and an electrician did come to replace them - that made minimal difference in the confined space, but upstairs in the bathroom the rattle and squeak was reduced. This was a sort of 'no-frills' cottage, we had to buy things like table salt and also products for the dishwasher, like salt and rinse clean as the dishwasher had the lights for this on and there was nothing available. We did not use the washing machine, because there was no way to dry our clothes: no dryer, no drying rack and no garden. It smelt liked a rented disued property and there were always flies in the house, usually around 6 or more all the time. Parking was also difficult as mostly unavailable anywhere close to the house. Unfortunately for us, this would not be a property we would return to, although it was convenient to the town and to the motorway and spacious with brilliant wifi.

Thank you for this comprehensive feedback and we're sorry to hear that you encountered some issues during your stay at Rojoy. The owner did respond as soon as possible to the problem with the air vent and would also have asked his housekeeper to make up the bed as requested if this had been mentioned at the time. The owner does pay for parking for guests to help alleviate any problems. We apologise for the lack of some consumables and this will be addressed so thank you for bringing this to our attention. • "Fantastic location."

Was able to park up and walk with ease into the town. Comfort of beds and furniture was great, allowing for a relaxing, restful retreat. Just a little disappointed with the lack of crockery and length of the shower head lead.

Thank you for your feedback. We will pass your comments onto the owner. We are glad you had a relaxing stay and found the location convenient. Best wishes HideAways Property Owner

  • "We found the cottage very spacious and comfortable."

As mentioned by others, parking was not aways easy to find, but we always managed. As outside space we can recommend the "Secret Garden" behind the police station (at 150m), a true paradise.

  • "Just small issues."

13.5 tog duvet in Summer? Hooks on doors would be useful. Main disappointment - this is the first holiday cottage we have stayed in (and we have stayed in many) that did not provide milk for that much needed cuppa after a very long journey. We are all in our seventies and travelled nearly 200 miles by train so we had to trek to Tesco for milk as soon as we arrived. I would willingly pay an extra £5 for this to be standard throughout all properties (perhaps tea, bread and milk). However, the cottage was lovely, peaceful yet very central and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The added bonus was the town of Salisbury itself - stunning with two exceptionally good markets and excellent individual shops and restaurants. A brilliant week - thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We appreciate you bringing to our attention some issues and can confirm that a lighter duvet has been acquired for the summer months, and we will look into the provision of milk in the future. We're glad however that you enjoyed your stay and hope that we can welcome you again. Property Owner

  • "Conveniently located, parking is available but isn’t guaranteed which is frustrating if you have luggage / shopping."

Accommodation comfortable if not a little dated. Lacked the ‘final touch’. Possibly pedantic but would benefit from things like; a couple of dishwasher tablets, scouring pad for washing up, cleaning cloth, one or two detergent tablets etc. just to get to started.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your stay. We're glad you found the accommodation comfortable and apologise if some basic consumables were missing, which was an oversight on this occasion as they are normally provided. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Property Owner

Quiet but really close walking distance to everything, lovely area. Could do with drawers in bedside tables in twin room to add storage and a couple of mirrors in bedrooms. Other than that couldn't fault it. Lovely arts centre around the corner too. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

  • "Fantastic position for Salisbury walking distance to town and Cathedral."

Big rooms and very well equipped. Clean and comfortable and beds very comfy Plenty of room for us 3 adults and 3 children. Lots of hot water, Biggest issue is parking. This would stop us renting again as it became quite a pain. You get one permit to park on the street, however there is no, and I mean no other parking on the streets but permit parking. Everything else is double yellow lines. We had two cars both with small children so the logistics were problematic to say the least. We were out all day so it wasn't cost, as Culver street car park is free 3pm to 8am but physically having to negotiate the busy road, park on double yellows and therefore block the road to load, unload, collect children wasn't easy and I would suggest a single parent would find this impossible. The permit does not mean you can park either as the spaces are filled well before 5pm.

  • "Salisbury Rojoy Accommodation Our cottage in Salisbury is located on Greencroft Street, very central to the center of Salisbury."

The living room is very large with comfortable furniture and a large high quality tv with loads of channels. There is an electric fireplace to take the chill off the evenings. The kitchen is also very large with a table that seats six. A small bathroom is convenient for the downstairs. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and the main bathroom. There was lots of hot water for showering and ample towels. The bed was very comfortable., as were the pillows. The cottage is very quiet. A large Tesco grocery store is nearby making it easy to buy food. There were a few minor issues which if corrected would give this cottage a perfect score. There was no washing up liquid or dishrag. There was no hair dryer which was disappointing. The wifi password should be conspicuously displayed so it is easy to find. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Rojoy and would recommend this cottage to others.

  • "Parking is an issue with this cottage."

Street parking outside is permit holders only during the day and unavailable at night. The nearby public parking is perfectly acceptable at a cost, but guests should be made aware of the parking situation in the description of the property and there should be more explanation of where it is and how to pay for it.

  • "My family of 6 stayed at this immaculately maintained property in July 2017: we spend a week in Salisbury most summers."

This house was roomy enough for us all, quite a bit quieter than houses that look out onto the busier streets, and immaculately presented - we thought we might have been the first people to stay there. The owner is very helpful (lives nearby) and sorted out on-street parking for us - not easy, admittedly, as parking is at a premium in Salisbury. We thought the place was well priced and very convenient - only a couple of blocks to the centre of town. Highly recommended! Andy, Siobhan & family.
