  • "Disappointing start because cottage had not been cleaned."

Owner apologetic however cleaners didn't leave until 6pm From exterior it looked neglected (lawn cutting etc) Property right on junction with street lighting outside not shown in pictures. Might be an issue for some. Garden very dog friendly secure high fence - safe even for jumpers! Plenty of walks from doorstep. Hundreds of dogs on/around Hengistbury Head - never seen so many in one place !! Well/tastefully decorated and equipped through out. One or two small changes needed re plugs/lights/curtains. Sofa comfortable. TV good. Intermittent phone signal within property. Main bedroom bed comfortable. Plenty storage. Other two beds very low to ground. Bath double size and whirlpool in picture doesn't work. Easy reach of Southbourne and Christchurch/ Mudeford beaches etc

  • "The location is the selling point for this bungalow, absolute dream position."

Advertised that it takes 8 but it only has one toilet so that would not be ideal. The bath in the property is ridiculous, I cannot believe it passed a risk assessment. No steadying bars no slip mats. The property is more suited to summer high temperature holidays as it is a very cold bungalow without heating. When the heating worked it was fine but a bit hit and miss. Booking with Sykes was all ok.

  • "Lovely place."

Excellent location as only 5 minutes walk (with slow old dog) direct to beautiful beach. Enclosed garden. Plenty parking. Huge Telly. Very warm. Many local food places that can deliver and a chippy just up the road. A few lovely second-had shops in Tuckton - we know how to live. Dogs didn't want to leave! Would definitely revisit. Thank you.

  • "Loved the location."

Perfect. Good sized place, 6 adults, 1 baby, 1 dog. Everything you needed in kitchen. Very well equipped. Nice having a big tv. Bath / shower is a massive size. Quite hard to climb into and out off if you have any kind of disability. Normal shower would be more suitable. 2 of the beds are very low. But saying that, we discovered there was not an iron or ironing board, we were going to a wedding, I text the owner and he very kindly brought one straight round. Also he let us check out a bit later as struggling to get out with baby on time. That was all very much appreciated. We would definitely return. I believe they have only recently started renting this property, so to be fair they have done very well. Thankyou.

We loved the spacious bungalow and the area, just a little tip for future holiday makers, if you have an electric toothbrush/shaver take an adapter plug, as there's no shaver point (a small detail) 2 of the double beds are Futon style so very low, & hard to get in and out of, if you are elderly like me, The area is very quiet which suited us, you would need to drive or walk a fair distance to get to any amusements or restaurants, Very close to Hengibury Head nature reserve, with lots of interesting walks Overall we enjoyed our stay and may return with the grandchildren

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Bayview ."

The bungalow is comfortable and practicable , and the layout suited us all particularly the dog . The only problem we had was with the bathroom , being aged 65 & 70 we found it awkward getting in and out of the bath to have a shower . Having said this we would not hesitate in returning for another visit. It is a dog walkers paradise , you literally cross the road and there is grassy parkland leading to the nature reserve and dog friendly beaches . Southbourne beach is 10/15 minutes away if you want a traditional day at the beach. You can spend the whole holiday without using the car .

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Bayview Cottage."

OK we were lucky with the weather (heat wave) but it is a great spot from which to explore all around us - Southbourne beach; Hengistbury Head; Medford Spit; Christchurch and so much more. The property has pretty much everything you'd expect and offers good communal space. It's comfortable with six occupants; eight would be a squeeze. There's scope for improvement on some of the details which we're sure will come. We will definitely be looking to go back and would hope to give the property a 5* ranking after a future visit. The location is on the corner of a road junction that leads up to Hengistbury Head and Mudeford. This means there's a bit more traffic than you'd expect and the house enjoys quite a lot of street lighting coming in to the front rooms. Not ideal but certainly not enough to discourage us from planning a return.

  • "We had a wonderful time on our holiday and the property was excellent for what we needed."

My daughter loved having a double bed to herself!! It is certainly a property that is suitable for young children as it's one level and has a lovely big garden. You just have to take your own travel cot etc if you go with younger children. The large bath was also a big hot with the children!! We would definitely return to this property and recommend it to others. Thank you for helping make our holiday memorable!

I work away a lot as a RHS Gold Garden Designer so I need to stay in nice places, so me and my partner were very happy here although just the two of us (but the place is huge and all on one level too) and our Gordon Setter (the dunes and beach are over the other side of the road, literally, and the beach well...deserted and in the distance is the main Bournemouth beach where the hordes go, so great for dog and children or just walking Best Wishse and we will be back Paul & Callum +Rusty the doggy ps recommend the Indian Takeway in Tuckton Village!
