There are lots of 'off road' walks. It is is with in easy walking distance to the tip of Portland Bill - the scenery is stunning! The property itself is modern and on the face of it - it was clean and tidy to the appearance. However, there were some hidden missed details - like fingerprints all over the refrigerator which was of concern in these 'Covid times'! The pots and pans were unclean and the oven shelf racking was broken. The oven itself was dirty and the hub needs a good clean. Someone needs to 'buck up their ideas up'!

The property

A really unique property steeped in history and boasting incredible views out to Portland Bill Lighthouse and the far-reaching sea.

Originally constructed around 1949, the buildings were the location of the British Admiralty, who carried out highly classified work which took the interest of the Soviet Union, whose spies were later supplied information by civil servants who worked there, before they were ultimately discovered as part of the Portland Spy ring in 1961.

Today, you will find this incredible historic and unique building has been converted into spacious high ceiling apartments and spa.

Through your own private entrance, you will find a fully-equipped utility area and stairs to the first floor where you will find a delightful open-plan living room, with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, making the perfect space for coming together and sharing stories or catching up on your favourite TV show.

Don’t miss the large balcony that enjoys extensive views out to sea and Portland Bill Lighthouse.

The large master bedroom features a super-king sleigh-style bed and en-suite shower room where you can relax and unwind.

The second bedroom is a large double bedroom and there is also a twin, perfect for children.

Portland Bill and the Isle of Portland is a truly unique location with much to offer, including beautiful coastal walks, hidden beaches, pirate history, modern day Olympic legacies and much more.

Be sure to view the Jurassic Coast from the Olympic rings at Portland Heights, where on a clear day you can see as far along the coast as Lyme Regis and Exmouth.

Weymouth with its traditional Georgian seafront, soft golden sandy beach and shallow water is just 9 miles away.

For Your View Only is ideal for families or a group of friends to come and enjoy all that Portland and the Dorset Jurassic coastline has to offer.

About the location

PORTLAND BILL

Easton 3 miles; Fortuneswell 4 miles; Weymouth 9 miles.

Portland Bill is a narrow promontory on the end of the rugged Isle of Portland peninsula which is joined to the mainland via Chesil Beach, a pebble spit, which stretches 18 miles towards West Bay. Situated on Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage Site, Portland Bill is home to three lighthouses, the most recent built in 1906 being the 35 meter tall, white and red striped Portland Bill Lighthouse. Portland Bill is home to a pub and a restaurant/café as well as the Portland Bird Observatory. Formerly a quarrying area, the stunning coastal scenery and footpaths provide excellent walking and the surrounding countryside is well known as a birdwatcher’s paradise! The local communities of Fortuneswell and Easton boast a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. With great climbing opportunities and an array of watersports activities on offer locally, plus the wonderful sandy beaches and the pretty harbour at Weymouth just 9 miles away, this super holiday destination is not to be missed!
