  • "A lovely, very spacious, clean and well equipped house."

Just 10 minutes walk in either direction to the beautiful coast path, and 5 minutes walk to shop and take aways. Friendly neighbours too. Really recommend!

  • "This was an excellent property with all modern facilities and situated in a great spot, lovely cul de sac and nice neighbours."

I had a fabulous holiday and the place was spotlessly clean. The cleaner was exceptional and friendly. I will be back.. 10 out of 10 for a fantastic house. Thank you so much.

  • "A lovely location and a comfortable home."

The kids enjoyed the big living room and the rope swings behind the houses. We really liked being able to watch birds from bed in the old quarry behind the house. We had barn owls hunting, which was magical. The Bill is a pleasant walk away. The things that can be improved are the kitchen equipment and the gardens: all pots and particularly the pans were beyond use, the non-stick surface worn to the ground. The gardens are all artificial grass and nothing else. Why not plant a tree or a few fruit bushes? They need very little maintenance, and will make the place look more attractive. Despite these minor issues, we really enjoyed our stay and are likely to go back.

  • "Overall we enjoyed our stay."

The location was great and the scenery was beautiful on Portland The property suited our needs, the beds were comfortable, kitchen was spacious and fairly well equipped and we had no problem with parking as there were 2 spaces which were always available. Although this is a mid-terrace property, we did not hear any sounds from either neighbour. The TV was large the tv manual was available and so we did not have a problem using it and we took our chromecast along which was useful. The only negative was that the cleaning was not up to standard. We found crumbs on the kitchen floor by the bin, bathroom towel radiators were not cleaned, and there was dust in places. This could and should be easily rectified for a better experience.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Quarry Trails!"

House was modern, spacious and comfortable. Location very good for exploring Portland (not far from the Portland Museum, Easton town centre and Church Ope Cove - all of which are a short and easy walk away). Also only a short walk to the coastal path and there is a bus stop round the corner, where you can easily catch a bus to Chesil Beach and Weymouth. Plus only 5 mins in the car to the famous Portland Bill lighthouse! Portland is so small, so everything is within easy reach. House appears to be located in a residential area and is not necessarily surrounded by other holiday homes, so would suggest people are mindful of neighbours and making excessive noise when in the garden, but we had no issues during our stay.

  • "We were told additional cleaning would be carried out due to the pandemic, which clearly did not get carried out."

The property wasn’t even thoroughly cleaned, let alone “deep cleaned”. When we pointed this out we were offered additional cleaning the following day. This wasn’t acceptable to us as it kind of defeated the object after we had already being there a couple of days, plus it would eat into yet more of our stay. After feeding back to say the option of cleaning wasn’t acceptable, that was it, the ticket was closed and I had an email asking me to feedback as our query had been resolved! Nothing was resolved and I heard no more about it. We have stayed with Sykes a few times before and never had an issue, so now after we’ve had one, the way it was dealt with makes me nervous about choosing Sykes again. I didn’t feel valued as a customer. Things go wrong, I understand that, but often the best way to evaluate the quality of service from a company is how they react when things don’t go quite to plan. I agree, it wasn’t anything major, but in this instance Sykes didn’t step up to help so we will think more carefully before choosing Sykes again.

  • "Generally excellent and in a great location for exploring the Isle of Portland."

We had a three and a half year old and not much for them to do, although there are two good parks in Easton, walking or driving distance. The facilities were good at the house, and Tesco/coop were a short distance away. We loved visiting Portland Bill, Chesil and Weymouth attractions. The gripes were over the bins, as it wasn’t clear about recycling or where the outside bin was? There was an ironing board and Bluetooth speakers. The TV was confusing, even when following instructions, but we didn’t go on holiday to watch much of that! Cleanliness was ok, the dining chairs are impractical for cleaning (woven fabric) and it seems a bit daft to have carpet in the hall and dining area, all first word problems! After this year it was great to get away with family! The neighbours were friendly and having a a garden was lovely too!

  • "A television is provided in the main bedroom but does not have an aerial connected to it and therefore cannot be used."

We paid £1,068 for the rental of the property and feel slightly cheated when one of the televisions does not work. We did not use the washer or the dishwasher and therefore do not know if these items work. We remain disappointed. Because the parking spaces are not numbered for each house, other people park in what is supposed to be your space.

  • "This was a beautiful house and a joy to stay in."

Our holiday went without a hitch. The directions given to the house were very detailed and accurate. The key safe at the house was quick and easy to use. The house contained everything needed for our stay. The good location in a quiet cul-de-sac gave access to walks and nearby amenities. This was our first time with Sykes and we'll definitely use again. We couldn't fault anything.
