“On arrival we walked into a beautifully apportioned apartment, with a text greeting and a welcome basket of essentials we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.”

The whole apartment has been done to a high standard, very warming to walk into and there is on street parking at the side of the building. We used it as a base for visiting the surrounding areas, Bath, Salisbury, Longleat, Jurassic Coast, ect......it was ideal we loved every minute of it. We ate out every day but if you wanted to cook or do washing everything you would need is there including all white goods. It has a small patio area at the back where you can dry washing or sit with a lovely cup of Dorset tea (which I am now addicted to). It is a pleasing walk into Salisbury about 7 min where there are a variety of shops and restaurants. Highly recommend whatever you’re there for.

The property

Beautifully furnished throughout, the apartment is ideal for friends or family who want to spend time together in glorious Shaftesbury.

On the ground floor, coming through the front door into the small shared hallway, you turn left into the sitting room with a sofa and easy chairs and an electric wood-effect fire.

Walking through the sitting room takes you to a well-equipped kitchen, the master bedroom with double bed and a bathroom.

Downstairs is a basement bedroom with twin beds and a TV.

Cann Court has adjacent roadside parking in Lower Blandford Road, whilst at the rear is a patio area with furniture, an ideal place to relax whilst planning your adventures.

Within walking distance are restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops of all kinds, selling antiques, organic foods, local cheese and all the amenities that this delightful Dorset market town has to offer.

Shaftesbury has a fascinating history going back to Saxon times.

The town is the home of Gold Hill (made famous by the Hovis advert) and has magnificent views over Hardy’s Blackmore Vale.

About the location

Salisbury 21 miles; Bath 30 miles.

One of Dorset’s prettiest and most historic towns, Shaftesbury is perched on a spur of rolling green hills, and the views in all directions are without comparison. Lush green meadows, woodland glades and outstanding architecture are all within a short walk. One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (Ridley Scott's famous Hovis advert was filmed here) with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street. Visit the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey (a place of great pilgrimage from the 11th century) or navigate the intricate and ancient lanes. Bath, Salisbury and Sherborne are all under an hour away, or drive through the stunning countryside of Blackmoor Vale down to the coast at Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth. A beautiful area, that still carries the flavour of the very best of the English countryside.
