It was picture perfect and very comfortable. The location was tranquil and well situated for day trips out to numerous places in Wiltshire and it's neighbouring counties. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for helping make our holiday a good one.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we're delighted you had an enjoyable holiday. Cos Cot has an ideal location and is a lovely base to come back to. Best wishes, HideAways Property Owner

  • "We have just come back from a lovely stay at the Cosycot."

The property is very pretty in a quiet location. The beds were so comfortable but I would suggest a darker curtain in the back double bedroom. A few of the windows need fixing, so that they can close properly. The pelican pub is walkable from the cottage along the road or you can go across the field which is quicker. We also took a bus into Salisbury which stops at the bus shelter just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. It only cost £2.00 & comes once an hour. There is also a lovely church which you can visit. I would recommend the Cosycot for anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing weekend away in the country with special friends.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your stay at Cosy cot. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your retreat and we appreciate your suggestions for improvement. We hope to welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, HideAways. Property Owner

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're delighted you loved the cottage and location but sorry to hear that you found one of the mattresses uncomfortable. Well stocked with everything you may need, lovely box of chocolates. Kitchen well equipped but some pots and pans could do with replacing. The cooker works well but the oven needs at least an hour to get up to full heat turned up to full power to cook the Christmas dinner but once we sussed this it was great, could do with some instructions. Thank you so much we really enjoyed our stay.

  • "We had a lovely time at the cottage, it is a beautiful place."

However, we were a party of five and only four bath towels and one hand towel were provided. Also there is no lock on the bathroom door which was quite inconvenient at times. The bed linen was clean but not ironed. I know that the cottage is old but there was peeling paint in a few places, which could very easily have been touched up. Paying over a thousand pounds for two nights, it was disappointing, purely because of the lack of comfort.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and we're glad you had a lovely time at the cottage. We're sorry that you encountered a few issues during your stay and appreciate you bringing these to our attention. There are plenty more towels in the main bedroom and had you messaged me as per the information on the welcome sheet we would have been able to assist. We use an external laundering service who do press the sheets but perhaps they were creased from the very hot covid wash that we insist on. Our handyman has since repaired the broken lock on the bathroom door which we were unaware of so I do apologise for any inconvenience. Finally, Cosy Cot is a 16th century period property with walls made with old materials and no cavities - they have to breathe so we have to use lime mortar paint. This is prone to regular peeling and we do try and maintain them as much as possible. However during busy turn around times in July and August we cannot have enough drying time so we do these repairs in the shoulder seasons. Thank you for pointing this out and we will do our best to tend to it as soon as possible. Property Owner

I did contact the contact person several times but they were unable or not willing to come and sort it out they keep saying we have played with a thermostat which we hadn't touched. This left us cold on several nights in the bathroom and bedrooms.

  • "The cottage is beautiful and reasonably well equipped and would have been a perfect place to relax."

The heating or lack of it and the lack of hot water due to boiler failure was inexcusable especially as the owner claims she was there in the morning of our stay. The shower head needed changing because of the build up of limescale and we could not wash or shower for the whole 7 days. Rather than coming out to visit the property to help us out the owner sent the plumber 4 times to keep trying to fix the issue. We then had the plumber for 4 days whilst trying to relax. If this happened to my house that I rent out I would be mortified but the owner kept needing to be chased during the holiday and to be honest we felt wasn't really that interested by the fact that she didn't come out to inspect the issue. At the end of the day, I would have refunded 100% as the holiday was not as described due to the lack of relaxing. I would have accepted 50% as a reasonable offer for the complete disastrous holiday. Instead a derisory sum of £200 taken off. The result of this is one disgruntled customer who now feels leaving a bad review for the property. If only the owner would understand the problems that were of her making and the lack of understanding since to her customer

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. We are extremely sorry you had a negative experience at Cosy Cot. The owner did every thing possible to rectify the issue and was informed by the plumber you did have heating and hot water throughout the duration of your stay with reduced pressure which was out of the owners control. It has not been fully restored. We are pleased you received a partial refund as recompense for the problems encountered. Property Owner

There is plenty of space inside and outside. We appreciated things such as a washing machine, dish washer and the wood burning stove. The bathroom is an extra nice feature of the house and it had both a comfortable bathtub and a shower. Even though the parking was not directly on the property it was close and convenient. The cottage itself is a nice looking building (inside and out) and its setting is also most appealing. We are from outside the UK and it was our first time visiting Wiltshire. We found it a pleasure to come home to Cosy Cot each evening we stayed there. The owners of Cosy Cot are conscientious and considerate. I would stay there again. I would recommend it to others.

However, the heating system need re-setting. The upstairs radiators come on the middle of the night but not at all during the day. The underfloor heating is very nice but on certain days it went off completely. We were hoping to return for a winter break but not being able to trust the heating will put us off.

Thank you for your comments on Cosy Cot, the heating is controlled and unfortunately previous guests had changed the settings. The owner wishes you would have contacted her whilst in the property as she could have either attended the cottage or gave instructions over the phone on how to adjust the heating. • "Loved the cottage, very comfortable."

Loved the peace and quiet of the village. Husband, ex postie even managed to chat with a local, also a postal worker!. Rather a short break so not much time to assess. One or two small things, it was very warm downstairs, no notes on turning down the heating, although we had 2 small children so it was good for them. They loved the warm floor! We did not use the cooker, only the microwave. We couldn't find any instructions and it was not a model were are familiar with. The wood fire, the same, although I would be wary of using it with small children around, and it wasn't needed this time. We would like to come back for a longer visit, but won't be eating out every day like this time, so the oven instructions would be useful. Elder daughter in the small bedroom failed to find the duvet, tucked under the pillows like a hotel does, until she stripped the bed on the last day. We had a few stubbed toes on the step down to the dining room, but we eventually got used to it and nothing broken.

  • "A beautifully presented and lovingly furnished country gem, situated near to Salisbury and the historic Stone Henge."

Cosy Cot provided a fantastic getaway for myself, my husband and 3 other friends (all 30+). The cottage itself is the perfect size for 5-6 adults or 4 adults and 2 kids- the only drawback is there is only 1 bathroom so you do have to juggle a little in the mornings! Having said that, the bathroom is quite large and well equipped, with a nice sized shower and bath. Bedrooms are also ample and the living room and dining room are comfortable and plenty big enough to accommodate this number of guests. The vaulted ceiling and show piece chandelier in the dining area were spectacular. The log burning hearth is a nice touch and the owners supply a small amount of logs to use here if you so wish. There is also a nice sized garden area, though it was too cold for us to use this! An addition of a hot tub would make this the actual dream! The kitchen is well equipped and I was impressed to see matching table wear (this never happens in holiday rentals!) It was also useful to have a dishwasher and the range cooker was stunning (although some instructions for this would be useful and we couldn't find any induction pans). The kitchen was well stocked with condiments and cleaning supplies. The under floor heating was an absolute luxury that we all loved, and there is also heating for upstairs - just take care to ensure this temp is turned up high enough during the day or the evenings can get a bit nippy. When we arrived the cottage was beautifully clean and tidy and it really is a chocolate box, picturesque treat, right in the countryside. For those interested, it's also right next to a Pokestop! Parking isn't ideal (you park just down the road) but there is plenty of space and because it's so quiet in the area, it isn't really too much of a problem. There are also a few pubs nearby, so if you fancy a walk for food you wouldn't have too far to go. There is a nice little farm shop about a 3 minute drive away too, which also serves breakfast and lunch (and the meals were lovely). It's also not too far from Salisbury, where you have literally hundreds of places to choose from to eat in, and plenty of really nice pubs, ranging from the contemporary to your more traditional British. Overall, a brilliant place to stay at a very competitive price for the quality of accommodation that you experience.
