  • "It was the most superb accommodation in a really beautiful, tranquil setting."

The peace and quiet was lovely! Help was on hand if we needed it, but also we had privacy. I would 100% recommend the Stable loft!

  • "A lovely, clean cottage."

We regularly stay in holiday cottages and this is one of the cleanest we have stayed in. It was well equipped and comfortable. The location was ideal for touring the local area and there are good walks from the door. It is a shame the village pub has shut down so it would be helpful to remove the pictures from the listing, however if you are prepared to walk for 25 minutes along country lanes there is an excellent pub in Rowberrow. One suggestion to enhance the stay would be the addition of a Nespresso style coffee machine. We would happily stay here again.

Thank you for staying with us Karen and for your kind comments. It is a shame the village pub has shut but we are hoping it will open again shortly. There is another excellent pub at Star, which is about a 10 - 15 minute walk down the road and they serve excellent food. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Sometimes you wonder whether a place will be as nice as it sounds - this one really was."

A couple of minor problems were fixed very promptly by the friendly, helpful owners. The only slight disappointment was that the village pub is no longer open!

It was very nice to meet you both Anthony and thank you for your kind comments. We would love to see you again. Shame about the pub, but hopefully it will re-open soon. Property Owner

  • "Stable Loft was a very nice holiday property in a quiet location but with easy access to It was clean, comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen."

The bedrooms and bathrooms were bright and spacious. My only disappointment has to be about Sykes! I was told that I was unable to extend my booking by a couple of days due to it being peak season which is ok if the other three of the four properties available for holiday let had been booked But Two of the four stood empty the whole time we were there and Stable Loft was unoccupied the two days preceding my booking which was when I had requested it! Essentially Sykes ‘robbed’ Jane of two days rental due to its lack of flexibility!

Thank you for your good review Jean, and I am sorry you had a problem with Sykes booking . Please contact us if you would like to come again. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay here all around."

The space is thoughtfully fitted out and it’s very bright. Every side of the house has a window with daylight poring in. Your view out to rolling hills, nature and trees are uninterrupted. The open kitchen is large and since we had everything we needed we ended up eating in every night. The surroundings are beautiful so we took walks every day and there is small village shop where you can get provisions. And the farm is within short driving distance to supermarkets, other conveniences as well as many outdoorsy attractions. We would recommend the Stable Loft highly.

It was very nice to meet you , Ozlem and thank you for coming from the USA to stay with us. We appreciate your kind review and hope to see you again one day. Property Owner

  • "We only have positives."

Such a fabulous setting and incredibly well designed conversions. A great location for anyone that want to savour the Somerset countryside and yet extremely well placed for access to Bristol, main routes, airport, motorways. Alongside that, just a few minutes away from medieval town centres, spectacular scenery and coastlines. Literally the only thing I can think of that would have enhanced the stay would have been some rubber pads on kitchen doors as they tend to slam shut quite loudly. Everythng else was fabulous. Thank you! We'll be back.

Thank you for your lovely review Nick. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we would love to see you again. We will address the kitchen door issue, thanks for pointing it out. Property Owner

You can spend time relaxing in the modern, clean apartment, watching the horses exercise or you can visit so many places nearby. Weston super Mare, Cheddar, Wells, Bath are all close and we also loved the local pub (Penscott Inn). Good fishing at Shiplate is nearby and Spa days at Webbington were great for the girls.

Stable Loft is a fabulous, well equipped and spacious accommodation. The only thing we thought the accommodation required was a two pin socket in the bathrooms for an electric saver/electric toothbrush. Perfect location for visiting Cheddar Gorge, Wells, Bath and Bristol. Would recommend The Star in Star if you want to treat yourself to a meal out.

We had a couple of meals in The Star Inn, recommended in the accommodation literature, which were superb. A great location for visiting Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Bristol and local, interesting villages.

It is situated in a lovely quiet area with beautiful views, but only about 6 minutes walking to Shipham, the local village. We had 2 walks from Shipham Village so the accommodation is in a really good location. Beaches are not far away and lots of lovely villages locally to visit. The accommodation is everything you could want; spacious and well set-up. From the Loft you can see into the back field where there were deer most mornings and evenings which was a real treat. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely return. Many thanks, also, for the welcome pack. Show less
